I am a member of a content network that posts my spun articles on other people's blogs; and I allow them to put articles on my blog. The thing is, when I host articles, they are put into a separate file (sub directory) on my site that is linked from my site. Anyway, I noticed that when my article is posted on someone's site, the url ends in .php. I have never seen any of my articles register as backlinks when using tools to check how many backlinks I have.
Do .php pages register as backlinks?

I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time, or if these links would indeed get indexed like any other .htm or .html page.
As you know, it takes a lot of time to set up a spun article, so if it's pointless, I'll just syndicate them instead.
Anyone know?
