Is banned my website by Google

I was recently contacted by someone who claims to provide 1000 backlinks (PR1 to PR4) for my website. Are there chances of getting my website banned by Google?

      There is a chance that you would get "penalised" but its very unlikely that it will get your site "banned" . i.e banned means that your site is totally missing from the index , you can check that by typing site:yoursite.com in to google , if your site shows a listing then its not banned.

      If its missing from certain keywords and rankings then its possibly that you have been penalised but with out looking at the URL its hard to say. You should also ask for a report from those "1000" backlinks to see where your backlinks are coming from , that will tell a story or two just seeing them.
