Quality Backlinks - Where?

I see so MANY services offering links, but as I look at what they offer I am mostly not impressed with the quality. How do you find quality backlinks?
#backlinks #quality
  • It's only quality if your link adds something to the page you want a link from.

So instead of spending your time looking for places to dump your link, look for sites where you can contribute some of your expertise (You are good at something right?) and offer up content in exchange for including your link.

That's a basic premise of article directories but it's put to much better use by contributing to an authority site.

That is the most intelligent post I have read in over a month here - great advice.

Its more beneficial getting ONE quality link (the way you described it) instead of trying to get hundreds or worthless links by spamming the net.

I have most part stopped actively building links myself, what I rather do is to create something that people would link to themselves and I have noticed that these links are quite relevant and good quality.

It takes so much time and effort to build quality links so instead of spending all that time on building links I rather spend it on content or whatever it may be to attract links and then just let linking to it happened naturally. As building quality links can be quite time consuming and mundane then I have also tried to outsource it in the past but I have found that the link building services still tend to use automated or semi automated methods to do it and in the end the links are not that good.

I am sure that there are some link building services and SEO companies that can build you really good quality handmade links but you really need to expect to pay top dollars for that and if your budget is not that big then I would rather spend that money on quality content that will eventually stars attracting links on its own.

Yes, this is also the way I feel. I don't have any link building services working for me and instead focus on building content that people will want to read. Then it actually is pretty easy to get people to my site through search engines, especially now that google is using more social signals.

Yes, if you have good quality article and it will get syndicated to many relevant sites then it will give you lot of good quality links but lot of people do not realize that the syndication is how you get these links and they submit mediocre articles that would never get syndicated anywhere so they try to submit that article to as many places as possible and think that this is how the article marketing works.

I agree some of the information given is a bit below par, but there has been some good information.

what do you class a good quality back link, for me a good quality back link is pr3 or above coming straight from the page with the page rank, to get those sort of back links you would have to pay for them or do some sort of 3 way link exchange.

this is how you find some of them using free tools, type in a competitive keyword in google, get the urls from the top ten of that keyword. put each url in yahoo site explorer. grab the top ten urls because yahoo site explorer list the most powerful links from the top down. if you do that for the top urls for that keyword you would have 100 potential back links you can get.

once you have your list of those 100 urls you have to search each page and find out what sort of link is pointing back to those sites, so if it is a blog comment then you can leave a comment on that page, if it is a link in an article then maybe you can ask the webmaster if you can write an article and leave your link in it, if the link is on the side in a blogroll for example that is most likely a paid link and then you can ask the webmaster if you can purchase a link.

it is a bit long winded but sometimes you can get a pr4 link for $15 a month, you will be surprised on how cheap you can get links for

If it's quality back links you're after then you should try resort to white hat techniques. One I can easily stress out here is forum posting and in what effect.

Make forum posts with relevant quality content.
This way a lot of people would read your post(s) and if they like it, they'll reply to it.

      Point?
In each post you make, put some signature links in your thread to advertise your site.

Better yet, hire some people to do forum posting job for you. You can hire some for a low rate. And if you're lucky to find someone that makes quality posts, then problem solved.

      Hope this helps.

    To find quality backlinks without software, and how to get some yourself;

    1. Find out what sites/domains/blogs are in the top positions of Google, Yahoo!, and Bing for your target keywords.
    2. Identify the ones that use a similiar model as yours - content Adsense pigs, affiliate, or actual product(s) or service(s).
    3. Check out their backlinks in Yahoo! Siteexplorer
    4. Find out where the site is getting their most powerful links
    5. Then approach the sites that are giving them their links and get them for your site.
Easier said then done, because many times your competition is paying for their backlinks ($50, $100, $200, $300 a month per site), or they have been paying an SEO company to create thousands of links over the last 10 years.

Yes you can buy link packages at WF, but don't rely only on those.

Do article marketing, because it will get you a link back as well as traffic.
Do forum marketing, because it will get you a link back as well as traffic.
same with video marketing and so on.

I hate to see people do only SEO, and if Google changes rules, they lose the traffic, NEVER ever rely only on SEO...

I provide SEO service, but I tell my clients, do your own marketing as well, because you need multiple sources of targeted traffic.

Its easy.Create some high quality articles (you can compile a collection of facts or tips) around 700-800 words with images or videos and post them in 2 or 3 article directories.(You should include back link to your website as a reference or author bio)
Thats all. These articles get picked up by other websites (depends on how much worth the article has) and you can soon find a lot of incoming links to your website.

You create something that people WANT to link to. It may sound trite, but that's really all it takes. If you publish something that's informative and interesting (whether it's an article, a blog post, a video, etc), people will want to share it. The result? A quality backlink.

And, it's not like you have to settle on one quality backlink per published item. If, for example, one of your articles gets syndicated, you can wind up with dozens of quality backlinks from it. Or, if your video winds up on pages all over the 'net, you can get hundreds of quality backlinks from it.

It seems like many IMers are of the mindset that one piece of content = one backlink, when, in reality, that's not the case at all.

I routinely see articles that I wrote months ago popping up on new websites. I haven't done anything to promote them... instead, people are finding them, liking them, and finding them worthy enough to link to.

Yes, it takes time to do. And, yes, it takes effort - which is why so many IMers can't do it. After all, it's harder to publish something of value than it is to leave generic comments on high-PR blogs

That means you are looking for links for traffic, not just for seo reasons, if that is the case you have to search out sites in your niche or who have the same sort of target market as you and somehow find out if you can put a link on those sites

also i suggest you do some forum marketing, find forums in your niche, leave good quality posts and have a link in your signature, they would see that you giving good information and would naturally click on your link

also look into article syndication, write good articles leave the an anchor text link in the article and also a link in your resource box with a call the action, so not only are you getting a backlink you can also get some targeted traffic to your site

When building backlinks its best to have a good mixture of everything.

Blogs, forums, profile link, link directories, web 2.0 sites, articles directories, and many more. Spread the over time is the best, but be consistent in what you do. These are all free and can be easily outsourced or with a good system in place almost effortlessly done.

Try to forget software and bots and try to everything with manual submission. If your after quality invest in some backlinks from authority blogs, and as I seen many stat above.. Offer good content in places like here for example and will prove to be the best backlinks of all.

    Hope this helps
