The problem is you are NOT ranked where you think you are. You have obviously been searching Google for your own keywords and clicking on your site and Google has now personalized your search results to match the sites you have been clicking on. Don't worry, you're not the first person to have fallen for this.

Use a site such as Scroogle Scraper to do a search minus the personalized search results and you will see your site is not even on the first two pages of Google. It's down around pisition #22. I would consider yourself lucky you are even getting 10 visitors per day!

You are probabaly logged into your Google Account while you are doing these searches and thus why you are getting personalized results. Log out and you should be ok.

The thing is I wasn't. I checked that, I even created a new Google account and still saw I was #2.

I would completely agree with WillR about personalized serps.
I'm probably sure that you also used google keyword analyzer...To be frank, google statistics on monthly searches, i would say is quite misleading and a bit accurate because even if your site is ranked #1 or #10 on Google, the monthly searches are still shared amount the top 10 ranked websites....PR #10 takes like 50% of the traffics, PR #9-1 sharee the remaining...

I might be wrong, but try not to search for your own site in Google when you're logged into your Google account. A lot of factors such as your Google subscriptions will affect your rankings.

For example, one of my site rank #2 for a keyword, simply because I subscribed to my own RSS feeds using Google Reader.

Using a different browser, not logged in, I realized that I'm actually on the 2nd page.

If you want to get proper results, try checking your ranking with a clean-cached browser while you're out of your Google accounts. Do take note that different country display different rankings for your keywords as well.

Google (US) is obviously your target, and rankings can differ if you're using Google (UK) or Google (Australia), etc.

I have found that you do not necessarily need to be logged into your google account to have them count the number of times you search for a keyword phrase, click into your site and ultimately present your website near the top of page 1.

    Two potential explanations:

    (1) The search-count for the keyword(s) you're targeting may be totally inaccurate. It happens from time-to-time.

    (2) You're not ranked as highly as you believe you are. In fact, this seems likely; for me, you're only appearing at #24 in Google UK and #12 in Google US.

On your own computer, you could very well be appearing higher in the SERPs than what you really are because you've clicked on your own listing so many times that Google's prioritised it in subsequent searches run from the same computer.

You may be ranking at #2 on your computer, and from your IP address, because you've clicked on that site many times so Google will show it higher in the SERPS on your PC. Try clearing your cookies or searching for your keyword on a different IP. You might see a much different result.

Always check in multiple browsers and ranktracker results vary by geo locations too sometimes.

Also, when you are ranked for that keyword, what Page Title and Page Description is Google showing their users?

Both must convince the user to click your link, and if the copy is unattractive to people, no one will click.
