So I have been burning away the nights, trying to come up with some good niche keywords to use. Tonight I found some - I think. Looking at one of the keywords in MS SEO Comp tool the 4th ranked website had stats like this:

Code:
DA	12
PR	0
IC	16,400
BLP 0
BLD	1,666,623
BLEG	0
DMZ	Y
YAH	N
Title	N
URL	N
Desc	N
Head	N
The website was one of the many sites/pages off of about.com. In fact they had several ranking pages, with similar stats. My question is this, Is it possible to beat out a ranking like this from about.com?
Having 0 PR and 0 BLP, it sure seems like it, but I'm unsure because of the domain age and the backlinks to the domain it self.

Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Zee

Thanks I just wasn't too sure how big of a role the domain age and and domain only backlinks played.

It is most likely a lot harder than it looks. The authority and power of the about.com is what you are up against, not just the sub-domain itself in question.

Many more of these types of pages are showing up at the top of the SERPS since Panda update 2.0 and 3.0

So would you advise staying away from that niche and looking for something else?

If not I can google for it. Just was hoping to cut through all the fat.

a few easy ones I think and a few more that are similar.
I think I might just go for it and see what happens. Starting to get
kind of burned out researching niches for the last 2 days and need
to do something different - like create.
