Google Dance Question

I'm not sure that is what is happening but I have a question. I have a website that is almost 3 years old and I just in the past 2 months have started targeting certain keywords. I got to page 1 for 2 of them but then I ordered a fiverr gig and had it point to my main site, now I wish I never did. I did it for both keywords and within days my site went from #9 to #663!

Now, since these 2 keywords have been trashed I decided to go after another one. Made a new page on this same site and did everything I did before with no fiverr gigs. BUT, it's been a week and by this time I usually have 2 page or higher but I am sitting at #643 for this new keyword.

Is my site, no matter what new page I make, been banned by Google to rank no higher than the #600's? Has anyone experienced this before? I hate to think I just ruined my entire site! My web 2.0 sites are ranking WAY higher than my main money site and I used them just to get links! This is nuts and making me very depressed and frustrated!

I had a similar thing which lasted for 10 days and then magically the rankings came back. The only difference is that I didn't use the fiverr gig. there have been a couple of other people who have mentioned that along with lost rankings.

hoprfully it is the dance but after reading these things I am glad I ahve never used and would urge others not use fiverr anymore.

Yes, I heard good things so I used it and it was for article marketing and I shouldn't have used my main site but other sites, my mistake. I will NEVER do it again! I hope it comes back, makes me just sick!

I just read that and thank you! I have put a plan into action and I hope to climb out of the sandbox like you did! I can't believe you did that 3 times! Once is enough for me!

Marsha it's really disappointing! I understand how much frustrating the situation is. See at present you can't do much except trying to get good backlinks using your targeted keywords. Also check your sites' title tag, meta description properly and try to update your sites' content.

I think I'm currently experiencing this kind of stuff but I'm still observing the changes in ranking. Will update this thread next week for the update.

Wait for one week.It will come back.Like dp40oz said reverse engineering works if your site is aged. But don't over do it.Because it might get situation even more worse.Good luck.
You can build more links to your site.Or try to get the link down from the profiles already created to get back the status.

The problem I have in recommending that is that if you build more links to get out of the sandbox all those so called "spammy" links will eventually count once you pull out of the sandbox. If you go and remove them all you will speed up getting out of the sandbox but then your site will be back where it started.
