Backlink Checker

Howdy folks,

Just wondering what you tools you'd use for checking and assembling a list of backlinks for your site.

I already have all my backlinking done on several sites do I don't need help with that.

Right now I'm using SEO Elite but I'm seeing variances between what it reports and Yahoo Site Explorer reports.

So can anyone recommend a tool that will give me a list of all the backlinks to my sites?

Scrapebox is what I was looking at but any other recommendations would be excellent :-)

Thanks

Niall

    • Thanks for the tip - just a shame backlink watch can't export :-(

  • Open site explorer + Analyzebacklinks + Backlinkwatch + Yahoo Link Domain + Google Webmaster tools

    • You use all of those tools to generate a single backlink report?
  • I've always gotten a varied report from the different tools I use. I'm not really sure that there is one tool that will give us a definitive answer about that. I've always depended upon looking at the bigger picture - is the number of backlinks going up as I am creating more of them - and not necessarily making sure each of them show up in each of the different reports. And I also use Rank Checker from SEOBook to watch the ranking of the website in organic searches for my keywords - is it rising or falling.

    • Couldn't agree more Gail - MS gives on set of results (totally incorrect), SEO Elite gives another (also incorrect)

So far SEO Spyglass is the only one that seems to have generated an actual report of the real backlinks.

Already use SEO Elite for the keyword ranking stuff - thanks for the tip though :-)
  • i think backlink checker is an appropriate one for checking back-links.
  • backlinkchecker or backlinkwatch.com would serve the purpose. Any how you may use any tool, it would show you something different from other tool. It is like that, we have to accept it and go ahead with out business of developing backlinks more and more without going through the list and statistics. that would be better idea.

    • Well here's a list of 7 sites you can use for checking backlinks. I find this list very useful. I can't post links so pls remove the space between the .com

      Code:
      1. backlinkcheck. com/
      2. webtool. com/backlink_checker
      3. highqualitybacklinks. com/backlink-checker/
      4. online-utility. org/webmaster/backlink_domain_analyzer.jsp
      5. backlinklab. com
      6. backlinkwatch. com (*same as webmedia has provided)
      7. bluebacklinks. com
  • SEO Spyglass is the best, it has multiple sources for backlink checking instead of just one.

    • Thanks for that tip! I actually had SEO Spyglass trial downloaded but never installed. It generates great BL reports....now to upgrade to the full version :-(

SEO Spyglass wins hands down here!
  • I usually use Market Samurai Software, I pay for it. Also I use siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com which is for free.

    • Exactly!

      You should try MS.
If you don't have the bucks, then try the trial
12 day or 40 days trial. Depends.

Sitexplorer is also good. But MS is better because it has all the other modules

      Goodluck!

  • Hey folks!

Thanks to everyone who answered :-)

I own MS but to be honest I don't like - it's slow, clunky, still in Beta and the backlink reporting is a joke to be honest. Just doesn't even come close.

SEO Spyglass is the definite winner here. Just tested the trial version and the linking reports are fast, accurate and even pointed out some links I created that I totally forgot about. Very cool!

Have a great day guys and thanks for helping to solve my dilemna :-)
  • I would suggest Yahoo site explorer for backlink checker.
  • I use backlinkwatch. It works good, and is pretty accurate. Although the ads can be annoying at times.
