Market Samurai Google Block!?

I've been using Market Samurai for the first time here recently and must have mistakenly been banned from Google (I'm assuming, as this has never happened to me before) by running too many keywords at once, too quickly. Oops. But anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew of a different solution I could troubleshoot as I've already tried a few things..

First off, here is the actual error that I am recieving when I try to continue my keyword research through Market Samurai (MS):

"Due to rate-limiting of requests to Google, your analysis cannot be completed.

This may be the result of your computer sending too many queries in a short timeframe.

Please try again later."

Second, I've already tried a few methods so I'm at a loss. Its been a full 24 hours since I first got this error although I tried periodically throughout the day to see if it had come back (should I maybe not touch MS at all for a full 24 hours)?

I also went to my internet browser (I have a few other browsers installed on my pc but I rarely use them) and clicked on Tools > Internet Options > Delete, then deleted my temporary internet files, cookies and history.

Plusss, I already have both CleanUp! and CCleaner; ran them both and restarted my computer.

Soo yeah, haha I'm not sure what else to try really - any suggestions would be great. I'm feeling alil hopeless; so I'm going to need a plan B if MS kicks the bucket - I'm going to take a stab and assume that maybe MNF would work - or something else perhaps....?

I'd hate to get banned through anything else though as well...

Its probably due to the fact you have requested too many queries from Google's database. Give it 24 - 48 hours and then try again, it should come back up.

Think it maybe a problem with Market Samurai.

I submitted a ticket over a week ago and they have come back to me a few days ago to say they are escalating the problem as they do not know the cause.

    Still waiting to here back.

Seems to be working all right, here.

I don't see that clearing your brower's cookies, temp files or whatever else would work at all, for two reasons:

    (1) Google tracks and blocks such requests based off the requesting IP address, not what's stored on your computer; and,

    (2) Market Samurai uses its own in-built browser.

In any case, Market Samurai, by default, routes its requests through its own proxy servers, which is supposed to stop or lessen the chances of your requests being blocked.

The only thing I can think of is that Google has blocked many of these proxies, or else you have unknowingly turned off proxy connections in Market Samurai's settings, thereby causing all requests to originate from your own IP address ... which will cause you to be blocked pretty quickly. You should check to see if this is the case.

If you have no joy with that, you might try loading Market Samauri up with some custom public/free proxies (you can probably gather a list of them by searching Google) and seeing if that helps at all.

I'm also struggling with the same issue since 3 days now. I tried everything I possibly could, but still without any success:
    - used MS through VPN
    - used MS through public proxies
    - used MS without any proxies (either buil-in or public ones), that is, with my dinamically assigned IP address
    - wiped out all cookie stuff and alike (though I know this does not make any impact)

And finally opened a support ticket with MS team.

Strange, but the same error message appears no matter what quantity of keywords I put in MS for research, and no matter how long I wait between two separate researches.

I am also keen to think that Google has blocked many of MS proxies, but then it's definitely a poor business model of MS if their team didn't manage a better deal with Google so users of MS can have priority access to the data.

I'm having the same issue also. But I found the cause and solution. The cause is your adwords account, that's the one that gets limited (I doubt that it is your ip). In this case the solution is to change your adwords account. As far as I know, an adwords account gets limited after around 4000-6000 keyword requests. I'm using 3 accounts at the moment and after 16000 keyword requests they are all limited. I'd assume this goes away in 2-3 days (don't know for sure). So it's best to have 10 google accounts and create adwords account on all of them, this way I think you can loop through all if you're doing serious keyword research.

I have setup a new account with adwords using a different email address and seems to be working with MS now for over an hour and numerous requests.

This seems to be working now but it's too early to tell if this is a quick fix or not as somebody else said it worked only temporarily. It's hasn't been a full 24 hours yet that I've had this problem so maybe it will go away in a day or two but for now it's working. (Knock on wood)

I do the same plus I use a VPS and private proxy to get research done. The fact is that any automated tool, MS included, is going to face the Google block issue since they have become more strict in the last six months. Researc will have to be done in much smaller blocks than we would like.

Well, first thing is it wasn't an accident! If you're constantly pinging Google's servers over and over and over again as MS does, they block you and/or shut you down for a little while intentionally.

    It doesn't last too long...

It's not just IP, it can also be the AdWords account you were using if doing keyword research. Try logging into another Google account with AdWords and see if that fixes your problem.

Great, I'm seeing this as well. I just started using the app last weekend. I'm unaware of any warnings of not "using it too much."

I didn't use it at all on Monday or Tuesday, used it for several hours Wednesday, then when I tried to use it late yesterday afternoon - bam! And I haven't been able to use it since. I just put in a ticket - but it's after hours Friday, in Australia.

Guess I'll try the extra Google account trick, but this is a lot of time spent fooling around when something should just work...

I noticed in google's terms and conditions they mention that you can not gather data from them by automated method.

Also I did try changing adwords accounts and was only able to pull one set of 15 keywords before its stopped working again.

I did not see this thread originally so I opened a new thread on it. I can't post a link so here is the best I can do.

Google has a legitimate interest in rate limiting, but sometimes you have work hard to find productive keywords. If you're using an AdWords account for MS or Google's keyword tool the limiting is based on your account. If you're using GKT to supply candidates for MS, just use two different accounts.

Setting up a new Gmail/Adwords account takes a few minutes. You don't have to supply billing info to apply an AdWords account for keyword research.

Google's rate limits seem reasonable. If you're blowing them out regularly then there's a time and opportunity cost to you as well.

So what the hell is the solution, it has to be something with market samarui, i just bought it last night, and i got the same message this morning. I've done keywoard research for hours, and never had this problem. Has it gone away for anyone and come back, has anyone tried using a diffrent adwords account. I'm assuming i would have to use a diffrent email for each account.

i got blocked last night as i was trying to drill down analysis of a new niche. I was having problems the other day also and MS informed me to breakdown my keyword researches to 800 keywords.. this was a right pain in the butt as i had 5k keywords to go through but it was working this way..

I then tried to analyse another niche last night about 4 hours after i have i had finalised research on earlier niche and i got blocked after the first 800 word research.

So fast forward to today 12 hours later i ran SEO comp on 16 keywords (10 of which look like nuggets!) and then i tried to do another keyword search on a keyword and I got the blocked message again.

I also am on a trial with market samurai and am not liking this instability with the software.. especially when it took me nearly 8 hours to go through 5k keywords. there main selling point was inputting your seed list and then within 30 mins it has it filtered...This is clearly not the case anymore... I am very dissappointed.. It seems like Market Samurai have over sold the product without the infrastructure to deal with increased usage.

Sorry to say, but I'm a big fan of MS and tonight I ran into the same issue, my ip address is blocked from keyword research.

I was using MS keyword research (generate without ad words account) and I never got any data it kept freezing up and all of a sudden my ip address was banned.

I tried using my laptop and the same thing ( my laptop doesn't have MS installed on it or a google adwords account attached to it) I still couldn't use google keyword tool because I was blocked.

This is not an adwords account problem this is ip address & market samurai completely. I still haven't heard of a final fix for this problem.

I've had MS for over a year now and I haven't used it that much. I have noticed that there's an extra long update every time I fire it up.

This is BS, I may have to try another paid KW tool. If anyone has any suggestions-feel free!

I will do some digging and get back to the forum with results.

This has also happened to me a couple of times. I retried every now and then to see if the ban was lifted, which seems to have only extended it. Once I completely left it alone for 12 hours, the ban was lifted and I could continue. I've also only been banned when doing keyword research on many keywords at once (800), but never when I do research in batches of 50 or so at a time.

    Hi everyone!

Google had blocked me too a few months back when I was using MS. But I found a quick solution by opening another Adwords a/c and inserting it into MS. And things started working fine again!

Actually, the main culprit wasn't MS, but the SEO Quake plugin on my browser. True to its name, this plugin creates a 'quake' all over the browser like an evil robot, which the search engines just don't like!

So the best option is to keep SEO Quake disabled and use it only on very rare occasions when you have to. I have completely removed it from my browser.

P.S.: Google removed the block on my previous Adwords a/c after more than three months!!! Cheers!!!

To J0hnnycl1ckz - Are you using SEOquake? I started to have this problem (with Google block) when I was using it. If you do, try to keep it in 'disabled' status and 'turn it on' only sometimes - when you want to check a specific site. After you will turn it off - give it 24-48 hours and try to use Google keyword tool again. Good luck!

Market Samurai have a full page dedicated to this in their knowledge base. It ends like this:

If you have been rate limited, we have some suggestions for you:
    - Do not use Market Samurai for keyword research again for at least 12 hours
    - Ensure you're using a keyword list generated with Market Samurai or using Google's Keyword Tool
    - Try using Market Samurai from a different location or with a different Adwords account, if possible
    - If the problem persists, contact (Noble Samurai Support)

The main point of the page for readers is that you will extend the ban if you repeatedly try to use Market Samurai within that period so patience is a virtue here!

Yup. This is what you need to know:

        (1) Google are reworking their services to block out mass automated requests made by tools like Market Samurai;

        (2) as such, nothing much works in Market Samurai (or any other Google-dependent tools) right now;

        (3) nothing will ever work right, because as fast as they fix something, it breaks again;

        (4) and it'll continue to happen;

        (5) and if/when they do come up with a long-term solution to any given problem (such as the one they're working on implementing for the MS Rank Tracker module), it won't be free, and any associated ongoing costs will be extortionate - often nearing, matching or even exceeding the previously one-off cost of the tool itself.

No-one's to blame. Google are well within their rights to make changes as they please, as were Yahoo/Microsoft with the recent revocation of Site Explorer, and they obviously don't want SEOs using public data, at their expense, to manipulate the heck out of their algorithms anyway. Developers have done a great job with tools like MS using the available data, but now that it's gone, or about to go, the game is up.

All good things come to an end.

Just received this email from Link Assistant CEO:

We're getting 100s of worried requests from users so we decided to explain this web rumor.

Rumors of a drastic Google algo change started spreading after another SEO software house officially announced their software stopped working with Google. What Market Samurai told its users is, "Several days ago, Google made some significant technical changes to its services" which made it impossible to work with.

Now hundreds of ex-customers of Market Samurai and our own users write to our support: Is SEO PowerSuite working? Is it safe to buy SEO PowerSuite license now when other tools are failing to work?

The answer is YES, your software is working and will work with all search engines (Google as well, until the end of Google.) We are able to guarantee that SEO PowerSuite is the safest SEO software to invest in.

So - right, SEO PowerSuite keeps working. The thing is, what is proclaimed a Google's technical change doesn't look so and has never been confirmed by anyone outside Market Samurai team. Our team of search engines experts confirms no changes to Google algos - and the speaking evidence for that is the seamlessly working SEO PowerSuite.

No other reasons for Market Samurai's software failure have ever been officially named. However, more realistic reasons were suggested by their former users, assumed by many SEOs on all kind of Internet forums - and never commented on by the Samurai representatives. So the actual reasons for the fail are assumable and lie in a strategic error at the early stage of designing the software architecture. Our experts say, the estimate of fixing such error to restore an SEO tool to a fully working condition is about half a year.

Seeing that now Samurai is planning to switch to Bing instead of Google, we assume the estimate is right.

So let us once again disprove the rumor: Google made no changes and nothing happened to it at all. More to that, whenever changes to Google happen in the future, SEO PoweSuite will keep working seamlessly.

As many know, for 7 years on the market Link-Assistant.Com software has been working reliably. And we can guarantee reliable work of all SEO PowerSuite tools in future, with a team of engineers and analysts monitoring search engines every day.

So if you've ever been choosing between SEO PowerSuite and another software, or if you see your other SEO software is facing problems now or any time later, it's time to make the safest investment and order SEO PowerSuite.

    Best regards,
    Link-Assistant.Com Team

P.S. Here is the official statement from Viktar Khamianok, the CEO of Link-Assistant.Com:

Every technology is analyzed, criticized and tested before development. We look at hundreds of use cases before making core decisions on software functionality. We understand that we must not, at any moment, put the user at risk. None of our clients can afford being left without working software or without any working feature of the software.

So this is the official confirmation that SEO PowerSuite is not and will not be affected by the ban imposed on other SEO software. You can check its work now yourself.
I don't really see a point in moving to Bing instead of finding a solution to Google problem (if there is really one)...

I created a new adwords account with a new email address and it worked for me. This is really stupid you have to waste so much time figuring this stuff out.

Its probably due to the fact you have requested too many queries from Google's database. Give it 24 - 48 hours and then try again, it should come back up.

Thankfully I have a trial version, no ways I will buy especially if these issues take so long to resolve.

I'm having the same problem. I stop doing keyword research for 12hour and try it again but I'm still blocked.

Now the only way I can get keyword suggestion is from google keyword tool (with out sign in to my adwords account).

This is my first time using Market Samurai (I never use any kind of tools or software before) to do research and I start to regret the decision.

Did my adwords account get blocked forever by google?
If they block my adward account will they block my adsense account too? (please don't)

I'm using the trial version and have been locked out. I did several searches today but nothing that would warrant blocking me ... ????

Anyone else having problems with MS? Not sure I want to buy it if this is going to happen often.

It will happen often. It directly queries Google from what I can gather. That is a no-no.

Mmm. Just happened to us too. Are others still experiencing this? There haven't been posts to this thread since Feb.

Is setting up another Adwords account still the only real option? We have waited 24 hours - still the same.
