    Hi Success 11p,

Try this, after performing your search append the following string to your search URL in the address bar of your web browser and then press ENTER on your keyboard: &pws=0

This will turn off the Personalized Web Search feature of Google Search for that particular query.

If I type my url, plus &PWS=0. that will give me a search result that doesn't include my personalized prior searches?

      Hi jducey1234,

To clarify, you append the &pws=0 to the URL of the Google search after you search for your keyword. This turns off the personalized results for that particular query.

      Code:
      http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=internet+marketing

      Is changed to:

      http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=internet+marketing&pws=0
Here are step by step instructions:
      1. Perform your keyword search on Google as usual.
      2. Click on the URL in the Address Bar of your web browser.
      3. Hit the END key on you keyboard.
      4. Type the following string: &pws=0
      5. Press ENTER on your keyboard to see search results with personalized search results turned off.

Excellent information! I have been on the Internet for 23 years, website for 12 and I only accidently found out about the 'personalized' search thing about 5 months ago and until now the only thing I figured could be done was to clear my cache, etc. every couple of days - still need to do that but now I know how to perform a search and see the "real" SERPS.

Unfortunately I believe many of the newbies and oldies are like I was, i.e., completely unaware that Google was tracking your every move and giving you results based on the websites you visited most often within those SERPs.

        Thanks Again!

Or try Rank Checker. Which ever sounds like you are getting personalized results.....used to fool me at first! Cruel little Google joke!

  • congrats..... for being no. 1 page in google search result.

i think you can use "Arnold swaznegar, California's governor; how much her wife earned in their divorce" as a title.

it is now talk of the town buddy.

i am thinking to write a short note about them. what do you think?

      Hi O0o0O,

Actually no, Google tracks and uses personalized search results whether you are logged in or not.

To avoid personalized SERP results I use Chrome when doing a manual search.

    1) Open Google Chrome

    2) Click the little wrench icon (top right)

    3) Select "New incognito window"

    4) Search...

Thanks for the info. I tried it, and it didn't make a diiference, but I think it is because I don't google my site and then click on it. I think that is what makes it become a "favorite."
