Hey warriors, for one of my keywords I seen a hub page on google its about rank 3. Are hubpages pretty easy to outrank? The page doesnt have many backlinks. Obviously google loves hubpages, but will a good content site over take a hub ?

I have no idea but what i do know is you should just carry on trying to out rank it. Build more back links from all over the place and your site will win.

How easy a page is to outrank doesn't often depend primarily on the site on which it's hosted, so it's not really an answerable question without knowing a lot more.

One of the most important things from which you can judge this is the quality (not the quantity) of its backlinks. For example, a page with 100,000 article directory backlinks and nothing else will typically be very easy to outrank (because all its backlinks are non-context-relevant and close to worthless), whereas a page with 15 backlinks from relevant authority sites may be very, very difficult indeed to beat.

As for so many other aspects of internet marketing, and especially SEO, the answers are all about quality: quantitative approaches are typically misleading.

As explained above, knowing the PR of their backlinks isn't always very important. It will help you to think a little less about page ranks and a little more about relevance. It's far more helpful to assess the relevance of their backlinks.

You can see this (among other ways) from the way that lower-PR pages so often outrank higher-PR pages in Google's SERP's.

      Meanwhile, these will help ...

Any of the free ones are useless.. the all return 0 backlinks. Even though it does have backlinks. I had tried this before you put up the backlink checker "let me google that for you" . Hence the reason why I said best. To see if you had any to recommend.

To piggyback on what Alexa said, it also depends on how you build your hub and what keywords you use. I picked up a special report in the War Room a few weeks ago on getting your hubs indexed fast and getting them on page one. It has to do with your use of keywords. It's pretty simple and it worked well for me.

With that said, a few weeks later I received a notice from HubPages that two of my hubs were TOS violations for containing links pointing to "prohibited sites" and being overly promotional. I had a total of three links in three articles. The issue was that I had an affiliate link in one post and a link to another of my sites two others. The url for that site is darkpersuasiontechniques.com The site promotes a guide explaining how people can avoid being manipulated by others.

When signing up for my account with HubPages there was nothing in the TOS about prohibited sites or affiliate links. Apparently Google just slapped them and now they're slapping others. So with all the work I've done to build this blog, I now have to pack up my stuff and take it somewhere else, probably blogger, as they don't have the same rules.

What bothers me is my hub had nearly 5000 words of top quality content. If you look at other Hubs they're full of shallow, crappy content and surrounded with Amazon affiliate links. How those are not overly promotional, I don't know. But I can guess. HubPages has some sort of deal with Amazon. Funny how things work, Google owns Blogger and they allow nearly anything short of porn and hater stuff.

So to answer your question, yes, it can be easy to rank with HubPages. But for me, it's not worth the trouble if you can't promote your stuff. Good luck.

In this case, if your domain is exactly same as your keyword then you can surely outrank.
    Otherwise, strong seo is required.

I should be able to outrank a hub page I reckon. Surely a website that contains much more content as well as decent quality backlinks and i'll beat that page.
