[Google Sucks!]Adsense Account banned right before first payout!

Hi guys!

It took me over 2 years of lazily posting blog posts to get to $100 in my Adsense account, only to be click-attacked 230 times in 48 hours from a guy in Mumbai, probably paid off by Google!

And one day after I filed a report regarding the suspicious activity, my account gets banned!

Though I've filed an appeal, I am 95% confident of not getting my account back!

Guys have any of you had something similar happening to you?

That's an average of $0.14 USD per day.

So, you didn't get banned until you contacted Google?

      Nope!

I reported when he was around 13/230 clicks.

Now I don't know whether the banning and report are related, or whether the guys banning accounts are the same as those who read those invalid clicks reports, but something's fishy here.

This started just as I crossed $100!

Just re-appeal to google and inform the reason about invalid clicks

Oh yeah, that'll work. They got lots of people sitting around....

There's a difference between disabled and banned.

Google just waits around to see who they can payoff to click bomb someone.
Common google tactic. They hate people making money. They do everything
they can to see that they don't payout a dime. Except to click bombers, of course.

I doubt it you will get your account back. Best to do is open another account and try not to make the same mistake again. I say "mistake" because 8 of 10 times when people get their account banned, they did something against Google's TOS. They do things like clicking on their own ads, get involved in some click ring, show people their website or ask their friends to click on the links, etc. I think Google knows about this and ban your account right before payout.

      Look,

I know you don't know me and all.

But even if I were greedy enough to click on my own ads, I am not foolish enough to have someone click on my ads 230 times in 2 days from the same computer in the same city using the same ISP!

And why would I do that when I am just about to get my first check?

Why not after I get the check?

There were absolutely no mistakes on my part. Either it is some @$$hole jerking around on my blog, or some cheap sh!t by Google.

Whatever it is, I'm done with Google Adsense forever!

you know that collecting the IP addresses of your visitors violates google's ToS?

      Are you kidding me?

These terms are for Google Analytics!

They are not for Google Adsense in any possible sense of extrapolation.

Secondly, I can't use Google Analytics' "Services" for gathering personally identifying information, but I can sure as hell gather that information using some other "Service"!

I use GA as well as Statcounter. So, Adsense has nothing whatsoever to do with this.

If you have Ip address and server logs, why dont you give it a try to appeal for your account reinstatement? I have seen many people getting banned and then successfully get their accounts reinstated after manual review by adsense teams. Check out this guide How to Get Back Into AdSense – Account Reinstated! « Legal Andrew

Hopefully that will help you, Good luck

I had reported the invalid clicks earlier, following which my account was disabled.

After that I re-pasted the details in the reinstatement appeal.

I really hate to be so pessimistic, but the timing of the click-attack and that of my crossing the payment threshold can't be a co-incidence!

I won't say I'm not sad it happened, but if this had happened a year down the line, it would have been a waste of even more time and effort.

Now I won't have to check my Adsense stats every hour or so :p

      Anyway, fingers crossed!

Yeah! Anyway, read this guy's story and the follow up conversation emails from adsense support, and in the end luck worked and he got reinstated!

It's not a coincidence. It's a well known fact that Google never pays out on Adsense. That's how they got to be a billion dollar company......they wait patiently as innocent newbies slave away for two years to finally cross the $100 threshold, and then steal it away from them. Seriously, dude, you didn't know this? Where have you been?

That's just BS. I've taken up to mid 5 figures a month from AS in the past. Paid without any issues.

The reason it often *looks* like G ban just before first payout, is that they usually run a check on the website when first payout is due or the site makes X amount of $'s in a period.

That's when they spot sites that are breaking TOS. It never ceases to surprise me how many people never bother to read the TOS in detail and then wonder why they were banned.

Have you ads running on pages with out real content? i.e. privacy, about, contact, a single video etc. If so you're setting yourself up for a possible ban.

Run headings above your ad blocks, like "Sponsor", "More information" "New" etc? Then you're breaking TOS.

Running images near ads, using link units that may deceive in their placement and so on.

There's just so many "gotcha's" that will catch the one's who ignore TOS.

And how many ignore the ability on the Adsense back-end to explicitly allow only certain sites to display your ad code?

I am new to this Adsense thing and have hopes to try it in far in future though. One quick question here.

Is it so easy to make sure someone's Adsense account gets locked/banned? Does it mean people can simply attack popular websites with this tactic? This is too bad.

Well no one had attacked mine till today!

And people have had such attacks right before their payments before. So, even though I'd hate for it to be true, Google could be doing this intentionally.

No it isn't. Google WELL KNOWS that people's websites gets click bombed from time to time and they DO KNOW how to handle that, those clicks simply don't count! Why anybody would ever report to Google about their site being click bombed i have no idea.

My adsense websites have been click bombed several times and never a problem for me. I remember one morning just this month when i checked my adsense stats and one of my sites had about 60 impressions and like 150 clicks.. well usually i get about 60 to 80 cents per click for that website and that morning it was only 12 cents per click so obviously Google didn't count those false clicks.

#1 Lesson to anyone wanting to make money with adsense: NEVER EVER report anything to Google, it can only make things worse!

I don't think not reporting anything to Google is really a wise thing. I was clickbombed before and reported that to Google and nothing wrong happen to my account.

Nothing happens to most of the Adsense users I know.

Only when it happens do you realize the abundance of people to whom something has happened after reporting!

Nothing wrong wouldn't have happened to you also if you did not report it..

The thing that I'm trying to say is that there is no point in drawing attention to you and your websites, especially if you are a noobie to adsense. Google DOES KNOW about clickbombing you don't need to report it to them. That's like reporting to a porn star that sex happens.

              Well...mine too!

btw I did some 007 work and found out that the guy whose blog I got deleted cuz he was copying all of my posts into his 2 days old blog clicked on my ads 230 times.

And when I removed the ads he asks me why I removed them :p

That way I got his email ID and the usual stats from Statcounter and Google Analytics!

Now I've sent all that to Google, but I'm not counting on getting my Adsense account back.

Anyway, I was wrong to accuse Google of disabling my account when I just crossed the payment threshold :p

I should have accused them of putting the victim in jail

              And Google Adsense still rocks!

What exactly happens in these instances? IF you were "click-bombed" by someone trying to do you financial harm, are these instances dealt with electronically, without human interaction? I mean, is it that humans don't even see a problem UNTIL we unwisely bring it to the attention of a human being by "confessing"? It seems that once an issue is brought to a human being, they think, "this account is a problem. Better to ban this account (they're not making money anyway)" It does seem, if you've been making money for awhile they're a little more forgiving with your account (I know I've made mistakes that could have gotten me banned).

Good stuff to keep in mind. Everybody needs to understand this. I think the gut instinct for most of us is to "confess" to a problem out of fear in the hopes that Google will be forgiving. Seems best to fix the problem, keep your mouth shut and move on.

Another question, I guess for another thread, but how do some get new accounts? In the USA we have SSN or other tax identifying information. It seems you might get a new account, but when your "first" check is issued, or at least by tax time, your identity will be known. Some seem to get away with it. HOW?

Google doesn't care about your identity, if you follow their adsense TOS you will be fine.

Whatever reason(s) Google had for disabling my account, I don't care any more!

Either they will realize it was a mistake on their part and restore my account, or they won't.

Either way I'm not going to monetize those blogs in the near future.

As far as my online income is concerned, 90% of it comes from freelance writing.

As far as my total income is concerned, 70-80% of it comes from trading shares on the Indian share market!

So, Adsense is not so big a deal for me personally.

And I had no reason to go around clicking ads like an idiot, right before the payout!

There are too many issues in life to be worried about 1 in a thousand Ad & CPA networks!

      Very true!

I've never tried CPA before, but was going to.

Now I got another reason to dive into it right away!

Could you suggest a CPA network for people looking for problem-solving products like software, VCCs, Hardware Drivers etc.?

Similar thing happened to me on Youtube (If you don't know btw Google owns Youtube). Somebody flagged my video so Youtube disabled it. I decided to appeal against it as it was a quality content packed video.

But as soon as I did, Youtube shut down my entire account! Basically I find in cases like mine and Indihow, is not to report it at all.

I know it sounds crazy and counter intuitive but I personally believe it's easier for Google just to hit the "Ban" button rather than invest the man hours into looking into it.

Sorry to hear about your Adsense ban btw Indihow

      Thanks James!

btw the disabling happened after I removed all ads from my main blogs.

I had decided to increase the traffic from Social Networks before putting on ads, so doesn't matter much as of now.

For later maybe I'll find a better way to monetize my blogs than through Adsense

hmmmmmmmmmm! After reading this thread and the responses, does it mean i should be giving up my Adsense account? Never received a check before, with over 3,500 impressions and virtually no work done. I still plan to develop the websites on which i use this adsense. Suppose i suddenly start receiving clicks won't that raise suspicion and get my account banned?

Well getting clicks is not suspicious.

WHY would someone clickbomb your adsense ads?

Especially if you aren't even making any money yet?

Did you make someone mad? It doesn't give any advantage to a competitor to disable your adsense account, and google wouldn't pay someone to click bomb your account that's just goofy.

There are many reasons you could have been banned.

Do you show adsense ads on your "contact" or "about" page? If so, you can be banned for that.

Are parts of your ads covered up by something? You can be banned for that.

Are you clicking your own ads? You can be banned for that.

Are you using shady tactics for traffic or tricking people into clicking your ads by showcasing them as part of your own site? You can be banned for that.

Is your content copied from somewhere else? Crappy? Irrelevant? Auto Generated?

All sorts of reasons you could have been banned, but if someone who is not from your IP is clicking a bunch of your ads over and over again, im sure google would see that and just stop counting those clicks.

You probably got banned for a different reason.

To be frank before my account was disabled, I was almost certain that all banned publishers had brought it upon themselves. Probably most have indeed, but not all.

I'm attaching the details of the clicker here for you guys to see as a pdf.

I had no idea you couldn't put ad sense on "about us" or "contact us" pages. I did get my site banned from Ad Sense because some guy over clicked my ads. It really sucks that Google doesn't give you a warning.

or just stare at the wall.. which would probably be less of a waste of your time.

Once your adsense account is gone it's gone, just deal with it and monetize your website in some other ways.

I have done all kind of stupid things to my adsense website(s), i have even clicked by mistake 2-3 times the last year.

Also i thing i have been attacked once, because i saw 200 clicks and a very few euros as income.

I have never been warned or banned or anything. Now i'm on year 2 with google adsense.

I have 4 websites to my account.

Something similar to indihow happend to me at the beginning of this year. Only difference is that someone approached me for a JV saying he wanted to drive traffic to one of my websites and we split profits . After I obliged, I noticed $50 within 3 hours and with the stats not matching up i.e. clicks and IP, I asked the chap to discontinue unfortunately, after 3 days my Adsense was disabled and I was expecting a check that weekend

All my plea to Google which included screen shots of conversion with the chap to discontinue his illegal clicks, fell on deaf ears to Google, even after I had to filled the restore account form. What I simply opened another account.

Initially I noticed that it seemed my websites which I used in displaying Google adsene were equally banned b/c Google Adsense didn't appear on them but later on it did. I was sent another PIN and have started collecting my checks

So I guess the answer is to open another Google Adsense account

Oh yeah. That'll work. That'll show 'em...

And people wonder why google has a heavy-handed approach.

Let us continue the conversation over gtalk.

I've given you my gtalk id in the PM.

no that was a serious question but i would probably have to meet with the 'employees' first. and of course for you there would be a nice cut if you were to find some decent people..

I don't know why they wouldn't reactivate your account if you reported the suspicious activity before being banned. That's not fair.

I received the first reply a few hours ago, but it was in the negative.

So, I sent a stronger application in terms of tone.

I'd given them all info necessary to catch the culprit including his email ID!

Couldn't give any more info even if I wanted to!

      So let them **** off!
