  • If this is you, then you haven't been banned:

    site:kitchenaccessoriesheaven.com/ - Google Search

Otherwise, you wouldn't show up in the results at all. You probably just moved way down in the rankings.

      Thanks,

      Yes thats me!

So if I haven't been banned, what do you think might be happening?

This site is about six months old and I have been adding content and small number of backlinks (140 ish) slowly, as scared of GOOGLE

  • I couldn't even begin to speculate why, merlincat. It could be any of a hundred different things.

    Simple answer.

Google dance! This happens to a lot of new sites. I started a site and QUICKLY got it to over 1000 visits per day with simple on page seo and some basic link building. It was getting over 1000 visits a day for a few days then DROPPED to only 150 per day.

It has been about a month now and I am slowly crawling back up to about 300 visits per day. The good thing is I know which keywords were sending a lot of traffic to my site at 1000 visits per day so I am focusing on link building for those keywords

Give it a couple days, newer sites will sometimes fluctuate alot.

Also, make sure not to be checking your rankings in google too much... But if u do, then at least make sure u r logged out of google when u do.

I recommend u add your site to google webmaster tools and do a google crawl... Make sure there are no issues. Make sure to submit the sitemap also. Then check back in 24hrs and see any issues google identifies.

On a side note... And i am Not saying this is at all the issue but plugins that show incoming search terms are a bad idea. This looks like keyword stuffing and if a human google worker looks at it, it can seem spammy. Just my honest opinion but stuff like that is risky.

I learned a long time ago not to ever rely on Google for consistent traffic. They are always tinkering around with their algorithms and trying to pinpoint the exact reason you're site may or may not be getting traffic will drive you mad.

Also, sometimes new sites tend to float to the top of the search results and fall down over time. I'm not saying it's definite, but I believe that bounce rate now has something to do with the way Google ranks sites. So if your site can't keep visitors on it for more than a few seconds, you're probably going to sink.

The best way to prevent any type of traffic loss is to keep adding fresh, original content to your site.

          Thanks for advice,

My time on site avg is 2.29 minutes with a bounce rate of 53.29

Do you think that is acceptable?

          I add fresh content daily

I've removed the widget so it's not visible but left it active in the background as I've found it quite useful tool for seeing some of the unexpected search terms coming in.

      Would that be ok?

I'd recommend promoting your site with Direct CPV, i.e. Pay-per-view pop-ups.

You need $100 to get started, but be sure to target the UK because your prices are in pounds sterling.

Target URLs that are related to kitchenware, especially in the UK like Homebase.co.uk, etc. Or you can target keywords as well.

Keep building links and don't stop. May take 2 weeks or a few months for it to come back. If I were you, I would try to get your site ranked in bing and yahoo as well. Bing is rapidly gaining marketshare. Bing seems to like EMD and in context links.

    Good Luck!

It's been de-indexed. That's really the only penalty, logically speaking.
        But nobody speaks logically.

        Illogical:

My site shows at #200, wow, I'm penalized!
Reality: What does that say about site #199? Just a little penalty?
Site #201, a larger penalty? All sites from 201 on down would be
suffering the biggest penalty imaginable. Illogical.

Because google values other sites over yours, that's not a penalty.
It's losing in a beauty contest.

I'm sick of these useless threads...people are just impatient, targeting
the wrong keywords, not working hard, can't accept the fact that
there are MUCH better sites at the moment for a given search.

If your sick of these threads...don't open them!!!

Thanks for your kind words and advice, this is so kind and I'm sure people offered you this kind of support when you began.

For your information my site seemed to lose traffic quickly, and when I checked it using a site checker recommended on another thread, the result came back as "your site is banned"

So i'm not infact being impatient, happy with keywords, working 13 hrs a day, and yes obviously there are better sites than mine...i'm still learning!

          But thanks for your help

      Yikes!

Where did you find that, and what would cause it?

Could somebody advise me on if I sould get the adsense off of this site, while i'm trying to solve the problem?

And if anybody could take a look at kitchen accessories and suggest what may have caused a google penalty I would be really grateful.

I will work to get this corrected if possible

        Thanks for any help

          Hi Merlincat,

can't see anything wrong with your site.

Odds on it is either a dodgy link, or having Adsense with Amazon advertising on the same page?

It shouldn't be a dodgy product being Amazon, so l would look into trying to remove Amazon and replacing it with Adsense, so Google takes another look at your sites pages, it may clear things up?

It could be a simple case of Amazon being fine with Adsense and Adsense not being fine with Amazon.

Or it could even be a certain Amazon ad, that conflicts with an Adsense advertiser ad.

I think that apart from trying to contact them and sifting through their terms of service, is to test different ad, variations until they give you the all clear.

          Good luck.

          Shane

Merlincat, this sort of question gets posted here VERY frequently. As you can see from paulgl's comment above, people tend to get a little short on answers after a while.

I've been working on an FAQ that will probably help you understand what is going on with your site. Check out: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...deindexed.html

You know dude, if you didn't do something that will force Google to put your site in low ranking, then it is probably Google dance that caused your site to have low ranking. But better to check your site's content. If you find some duplicate contents, I think it has something to do with it.

The only duplicate content i'm aware of is some user feedback quoted from sites such as amazon, and obviously product specs manufacturer and the like.

However, in some search results showing duplicate results that may be the problem.

I'm not sure but maybe had all in seo set wrong or settings on sitemap plugin, as I haven't encountered the same sort of problems before.

Ah, I think I know why your site drops. But one thing for sure, when I check using google, your site is still indexed, it is still there. You are still lucky your site is alive.

You are using STT2 right? Many fellows of mine whose their blogs have STT2 got deindexed. When I check your site via google, there are so many pages indexed as a result of STT2 plugin, thus increasing the number of pages indexed by google.

You have to set STT2 properly, and also have to remove the footprint. There is a member called yukon here knows better about STT2. Although he may not agree with me, being accusing STT2 responsible for the site loosing ranking in google.

I think I had a look at this website yesterday - check your backlinks with this tool (Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch) and you'll see that most of your backlinks are from WF signature links and other links all from a Wordpress blog. If you visit the WP blog site, there do not appear to be any links to your site any more - this may help explain a drop in rank.

The best way to get links in my opinion is from article marketing - you get in-context links often on a range of high PR sites (many different domains too) with the anchor text of your choice. Plus when done properly, they tend to stay around for a long time. I would suggest you work on this and hopefully your site will make it's way back up the rankings.
