Mobile SEO thoughts. How is it different?

Has anyone had real experience with mobile SEO?

Everyone keeps talking about it, but no real practices.

Basically, my takeaway is to use common SEO practices and apply them within the "smaller" websites, ones that are mobile-friendly.

And add-on a mobile sitemap on top.

  • When thinking mobile SEO, think local and social. According to Google, 95% of searches on mobile devices are for local info. Also, people tend to share on twitter, facebook, etc when on their mobile devices, so be sure to use social media tools on your mobile site.

    • I'm going to have to agree with this. There are times when I would search for lets say a restaurant, and it shows the closest one with the address rather than the restaurant's web site
