Would like to get some opinion on the following in regards to submission of articles for backlinks:

What is the better way to go for backlinking?

Write an article and submit it to the top 10 article directories

or

Write an article and blast it to hundreds of article directories

    Submit different versions of the same article to the top article directories. you never want to submit the same article to directories or it will be considered duplicate content by the search engines. Blasting your article doesn't work any more, all it will do is get your site slapped by google. An easier way to get back links is blog commenting, it only takes a few minute to write a relevant comment compared to at least an hour or more to write a quality article.

    I rarely change my article that I submit to the top directories. That spinning software looks rediculous (no matter what anybody says).

    I guess I could change a a line very paragraph, but would that do any good?
