hi,

I have big portal like:

portal.com/product1.html - promoting product 1
portal.com/product2.html - promoting product 2
portal.com/product3.html - promoting product 3

...

1. when building backlinks for product 1, shall I do it for
portal.com/product1.html or for portal.com ?

2. if I will build for portal.com/product1.html and in future I will change site structure for instance
portal.com/product1.html -> portal.com/product1.aspx
then what will be with previously builded backlinks?

  • most of your links that you get organically will go to your home page so you should built links to your inner pages as well. If you change the structure in the future you can use a redirect in your cpanel to redirect the links to the new url.

  • You can promote your products pages with product1.html, product2.html....
