How can i create a web traffic forcast??

I am currently in the planning phase of a new business, AND i am needing some help with finding some techniques to develop traffic projections for the website. This is a crusual number for me getting to the launching phase.

I am looking for tips on what steps i can take to find out how much traffic i can expect in the first year, second year and even third.

details:
Target market: people with food allergies

Goal:

  • develop long term site members
resources:
  • full time writer, to create quality, original content for blog and Media, also to interact with new site and social media members.
  • $100,000- $300,000 advertising budget (first year) would like to spend this $ money where i will get the most LONG TERM organic results

    You can determine traffic by using the Google keyword tool to see how much approximate traffic is being sent to each keyword you're using per month. Once you have those numbers, you will want to multiply it by .4 to get the approximate number of clicks to the #1 spot in Google per month. So, if you're lucky enough to have your site listed 1st on Google for your keyword, then you can expect that much traffic every month.
