Today , I've just seen my website go to #5 then to #19 and lastly it's way back on Page 5. It's only three weeks old , and I've done AMR twice and Scarpbox once. It also has some .edu backlinks that I've just added today.

Is it because it's only a new site? Is it sandboxed?

I don't know what to do? I've added Twitter and Facebook buttons. Twittered it several times.

Does anyone have any suggestions , I was thinking of paying for a Twitter Gig on Fiverr. Or shall I just wait for all my backlinks to index?

Any Suggestions? What do you SEO Good's think?

  • No, it's not sandboxed. This is perfectly normal with new sites.
My advice would be to just keep building links to it. Give it some time. You will eventually see it come back. SEO is a game of patience.

I might just blast it with orignal content , Like 800 word articles. Now That should make Google see. I Hopez

It's called "Google Dance". Happens only to new websites, and you'll rank in a matter of days/weeks...Just profit by this and start steadily building backlinks to your website, so you can get a good rank.

          Hi Bryan99,

It is not called the "Google Dance". The Google dance is a term that was coined to describe the fluctuations in ranking cause by major algorithm updates.

This is classic QDF, which is a temporary boost in rankings for fresh content. After this temporary boost wears off the new pages sink to their current earned positions.

How can I rank well then? Add more content?

Yaa more unique content and when placing permalinks always try to concentrate on keywords in it.
And check whether any of your inner page comes before your main page and swiping in ranking so that it gives clear indication of the drop.

As previously mentionned, you should make your urls include your keywords by going to settings --> permalinks in wordpress and changing it to %postname%.

Beyond that, your site is really young, don't expect stable rankings for many months.

              Hi simplybeastz,

Yes, but let explain something that is rarely shared on this forum. The content that you add does not necessarily need to be on your own website. For your website I recommend that you create just the right amount of content to best serve the purpose of your website, no less, and no more.

Once you have what you believe is the perfect amount of content for your website, don't stop creating content, continue creating, just don't place that content on your website.

Use that additional content to promote your website. Create and place content on the various Web 2.0 properties, as guest blog posts, as keyword rich descriptions placed on social bookmarking sites, as articles placed on article directories for syndication, as press releases, as forum posts, as useful blog comments, etc, etc.

There is an old saying in this business, content is king. Promoting your website requires lots of original content if you want your promotional activity to stick and be highly effective.

Your on-page seo needs help, use your page title as the url instead of this:

    Patience!

Your site is only 3 weeks old & you are building back links, sounds like Google dance often seen with new sites.

It has taken a couple of my sites over 3 months to hold a strong page one position.

This is probably the "Google Dance" effect. What happens is normally you make various changes to your index page and/or create new backlinks to your site and Google then adjust your position in their keyword ranking table. It is not unusual for your site to totally disappear for over a week only to come back with a better position.

Keep up your backlink efforts it will pay dividends in the long run!

  • No, your site is not sandboxed. This is a very normal phenomenon with new websites. It's referred to as the Google dance. Just continue to build backlinks. As your site ages, it will start to become more stable in the rankings.
