Youtube links increase google rank?

I have a youtube channel and I post a new vlog anywhere from 1 - 5 times a week I am near 30 videos, in the description I have a link to my site. Every since I started adding links my website went from page 10 on a high searched keyword to page 2 now currently. I am excited but, is youtube really a good place for backlinks? Because from my experience it's amazing.

Now that I have figured out the power of youtube backlinks, what do I need to do to build authority? and what other places can I post my link to get higher on google?

    the only problem with linking from Youtube is that they don't allow you to put anchor texts in.

    However - if you link your videos together and backlink to your site - I do think you'll go farther up the SERPs.

      Even though you can't add an anchor text to it I think those links still help. When I log into google webmasters I see 40 backlinks from youtube, so they must be counting them for something

      It is nice to have a mix of anchor text, mixed anchor text and naked links.
      Google also reads the words around the anchor text, so put those words near the link in the youtube videos to help you rank for that keyword.

      I dont think YouTube backlinks carry any link juice because they are user generated.
