3,600 searches/month exact match, yet no one has registered the .com

Earlier today I discovered a keyword phrase with 3,600 searches per month exact match on Google's keyword tool.

The keyword phrase has high commercial intent, lots of Google ads appear when I type in the phrase, it's not a brand name, not too competitive either yet the .com hasn't been registered which really surprises me.

Any idea why? I'm puzzled.

If there are adwords advertisements being displayed for the exact keyword phrase of the domain, that should tell you that it's likely a profitable niche.

You may have lucked up on an expired domain. It's hard to say without more information on the niche.

Register it! Then send me a PM and I will get the .net or .org

But first, what is the competition like?

It is possible. I have a couple of .coms for highly sought after niches (or at least I think so). What's even better is that the .net and .org versions were not available at that time. So...

    Rare opportunity though...

Oh....there are actually plenty. But normally, there are two problems. One, there is a trademark name in it. Or two, the competition for that keyword is too high.

To be honest i wont be worried if it has a trademarked name in it .. MOST tm owners and merchants are okay with it.. but if you are going after something like 8gbipodtouch.org is better than appleipodtouch.net .. I've had 100's of these domains with no issues in ranking them or CD letters except for once when i booked a domain with 'Samsung' in it

Go on and book it! But remember the Adwords Tool can give you just the estimates .. they are no way Guaranteed .. many times i've got 4,400 exact search EMDs .. and guess what they were easy to rank first page but not getting traffic as much as EMD's which Google predicted just 880 searches per month for similar ranking .. you do not really know unless you test it out .. $8 for regging the domain name.. i'd suggest you to develop the domain and test yourself..if works..book all other extensions and get related terms too!

    Estimated CPC is $0.80

It's not an expired domain, looks like no one has registered the .net .org or any other.

The keyword phrase is a sub-niche of a huge niche which is very popular with women.

I just spotted another .com which hasn't been registered in the same sub-niche with 2,400 exact match monthly searches.

Having done a bit more research I notice Google ads are everywhere for this keyword, and on Bing too.

Not sure I want to reveal the keyword phrase on this thread, sorry for being secretive, but if you want to know the sub-niche PM me and I'll tell you once I have enough posts to reply to your PM which I think is 50. Chances are there are a few more .com's still unregistered.

No offense, but I don't understand what you're end goal is with this thread? IMO, it looks like this could obviously be lucrative, so why not fork over the $8 to $10 for the domain and put up a site to test it? Other than that, you really won't get any more info on how good this niche could be (from what you already have). It's all about putting in a few bucks and some of your time and giving it a test run.

Am I the only one who is missing the point of all this?

I was wondering if anyone had any idea why no one had registered a .com with 3,600 searches a month in what appears to be a good niche.
