Hi everyone.

I'm new here and just thought i would tell you a little bit about me, I have been trying IM for quite a while now. I have bought some rubbish stuff from the so called guru's and wasted alot of money :-(

i have tried alot of things but nothing seems to work out for me, and it is very frustrating.

When people said you failed to make the light so many time and he replied "No, I found 100 ways how not to make a light bulb" or something like that anyway lol, it's kinda the same with me i have found 100's of ways how not to make money online lol

I somtimes get the feeling that it's a big con but i am staying optimistic and not giving up :-)

People say try PPC and stuff but i don't have the money for testing and stuff, i have been out of work for a while because my mam has been ill.

But i have learned abit along the way and i have built a sniper site, exact keyword domain, keyword in title discription, meta, alt tags, H1,H2, and throughout content, i also put the keywors in bold underlined and italic so it's ok onpage.

But then it comes to some link building, know i have seen alot of people get these kind of sites ranked very quick with only a few backlinks, i really hope it does for me, I just want to see that it works so a massive weight can be lifted and then i know what works.

The site is about a week old now, and i have done some blog comments and stuff for some backlinks, but i have a problem with link building because i have Bipolar so i lose concentration very easily, so you can see why this is a problem lol.

But it help building these smaller sniper sites because they should rank quicker.

I would love to outsource backlinking, but i dont have alot of money, and the deals i have seen are like 3000 links, but i though if you get all them links at once google will punish you.

I don't know much about this but is it true with new sites, if i used one of these type of services like a link pyramid would i get punished?

And if so can anyone recommend anything or help me out please :-)

Anyway it's nice to be here.

Cam

I know what you mean, after working hard on a site to have it not take off like a rocket. This can really make you think that all this IM stuff is a scam. And yes, there are plenty of scams out there, but no, it is not all a scam. Stick with it and try to stay focused. You will eventually find some ways that work out for you to make some money online. It's not easy, but it can be done

It's very hard to get rankings quickly because if you blast too many links at a new site you could easily find it sandboxed (dropped of the rankings)

The best way is to build them naturally however this takes a lot of time

          Best Regards

          Lee

    Welcome to WF.

Nice to know you have tried <<EVERYTHING>>, but have you tried something in particular.

I can see you are trying to research on keywords to build backlinks, if I may ask, is it a new website or one you have been experimenting on all this while?

I have done websites in the past but that when i was very new and i did not know much at all so i tried to rank in the debt niche lol

but i have learned more and this is a new site only about a week old with good on page seo, and in fairly low comp keyword.

but it's the backlink part i sruggle on, it's like a sniper site, really optimized on a keyword.

it's about getting some quality backlinks now, so if you have any advice?

      please

      thank you

Hi Cam, welcome to the Warrior Forum.

So let's say your keywords are well targeted and the competition is just right- you want backlinks.

Well you really have two options in my opinion:

        1) Automation/spam = quantity > quality
Forums, blogs posts, XRumer, Scrapebox, blah blah, etc. etc. (not my thing, as you can probably deduce, although I do mix it in now and again).

        2) Competitive analysis = quantity < quality
        Try this-
◎ Pick a few keywords that are loosely related to yours.

◎ Find interesting (high ranking) competitors in those keywords + your keyword too.

◎ Make a list and check their backlinks (backlinkwatch, opensiteexplorer, majesticseo, whatever)- note any interesting links sources that you may be able to also use.

◎ Contact link sources or create links. You're looking for pages/sites with AUTHORITY and RELEVANCE. Maybe you might write a guest blog, maybe you find a dead/broken link on someone's site and offer to replace it, maybe you contact the site owner or maybe it's as simple as a blog comment. Whatever, just note them down.

◎ As you go through site after site, you'll find yourself accumulating hundreds of link sources! (write them down and sort them by niche, as you might want to use some of these sources in future projects).

        ◎ Email webmasters, create links.
IMPORTANT: It's grueling work at first, but the reward is substantial.

        3) Link bait
I know I said two, but the exception is creating content SO GOOD that people link to you just because they like it. This usually takes a while, I've got a tutorial that can help, if you like I can find it.

And lastly, I sometimes get criticism for saying this here on WF, but I'm sure I'm right:

Don't underestimate the power of relevance!
        Seek RELEVANT links. Not Pagerank.

        Fortune favours the bold.

Thank you it's a great help.

when building links via articles, should i just use the 1 original article and submit that to ezine, or would you spin it?

if so what other directories do you submit to?

            thanks again everyone :-)

              Hi Cam,

Since you've already built your site, you can now focus on link building.
Give it 3 days or more - bipolar or not. ... lol

There are 3 places to get yourself involved full-fledged in link building.
              1. Forums - Look in BigBoards
              2. Article Directories - EZA, Hubpages & Squidoo
              3. Groups - Yahoo, LINKEDin and Google

Don't waste time on 2 things:
              - COMMENTING ON BLOGS
              - CONSIDERING FOLLOW or NO FOLLOW

In fact, get yourself really involved in the 3 recommended spaces and do nothing else.

              Steps : -

1 - In those spaces, select categories matching your niche
2 - Register and fill up your profiles nicely - URL, description and whatever you can fill
3 - Introduce yourself and chime in the topics. DON'T SELL. Make yourself part of the
active community, even with short messages.
4 - When you have enough credits, place hyperactive links in your signature.
5 - In EZA, you can add your articles if you want after you register. BUT
there is something better there for Link Building - write comments at the articles you read.
Read the articles properly and make the comments relevant to that articles.
              NOT CANNED comments.

In this Link Building Method - DON'T SELL. It is about Link Building in your Profiles
and hyperlinked Anchor Text in Signatures.

I have a few articles that you can refer to :
              -> Forum Marketing
              -> Branding In Yahoo Groups
              -> Backlinking in Article Directories
-> Cloak Or Not To Cloak Affiliate Links

Make comments inside for immediate backlinking ... as the first test.

Lastly, I can recommend 2 fantastic WSO on SEO that will serve you well
and may make you stop buying other WSOs on SEO.

              PM me.

                Thanks great advice.

I thought commenting on relevent blogs were good backlinks.

What is Follow and no Follow?

And does reciprocal linking work well?

                Thanks cam

                  Hi,

Blog Commenting & Do Follow/No Follow Tags are related.

Say if you commented on someone's blog and you placed some hyperactive links in the comment or in the user's URL box. The blog owner may automatically tagged those links as NO FOLLOW so as to make them unspidered by SEs.

There is an obsession for some Blog commentors to look for blogs that allow spiders to follow. The issue is Blog comments can be deleted by owners any time.

Worse still, if owners delete our comments via Akismet Plugin, our URL and IP are automatically added to Akismet Blacklist Server used by millions of Bloggers. So the next time we sincerely commented on other blogs, our comments go straight to the spam box. whewww...

IMHO, Blog commenting on Personal Blogs where not many people gather is not worth the time.

                  Be where the crowds are

If you still want to do Blog Commenting, look for "Authority" Blogs that are worth it with thousands of enthusiastic followers. There are more people coming and commenting.

Some examples are blogs by John Mayer, Alec Baldwin, Kim Kardashian, John Chow, John Cow and etc. The question is, are the blogs relevant to your niche?

Popular blogs are much loved by SEs and they rank very high. So even if your hyperactive links are rendered NO FOLLOW, your comments are still spidered by SEs along with the blog post URL. When someone searched and found it in the SE, they will come over to have a look. And if your comments are so compelling, they might click your user name - the anchor texts for your site URL - to pay a visit to your site.

BUT .. that is about SEO-based organic traffic.

For best Backlinking effect, be where the crowds are in the right categories of EZA, Hubpages, Squidoo, Forums and Groups. Our posts become viral when our articles are forwarded by users to other spaces.

                  My thoughts about Reciprocal Links

                  - Be very selective to avoid ROGUE web site owners.
                  - It is not easy to get relevant sites to link with us UNLESS the owners are our friends.
                  - Even if they are our friends, they might worry about their PR juice getting diluted in value by our unranked sites.
                  - Exchanging Links with irrelevant sites won't get us anywhere.

Better do "UN-RECIPROCAL" LINKS ... lol

                  1. Pay for a banner spot or anchor text spot to advertise your site at relevant blogs, sites and forums - whether they are popular or not. Make it 1 month. Get super cheap ones.

                  2. Pay for submission service to numerous 2nd tier SE Directories, where your sites are registered at the relevant categories.

                  My 1.5 cents.
