domains redirection

hi,

is it ok with Google to buy some old domains, make some on page, off page seo
and make from them redirection to my young brand name site?

but it will give me only half of link juice of that old domain?

If the domain has PR than it is better to put a page or two of content on it and just make a backlink to your site from the domain. But if it is just a domain that has lots of backlinks or traffic but no PR than yes you can 301 redirect it and you will get the traffic and some link juice, not all the link juice but more than half.

why I cannot do redirection if old domain has PR > 0 ?
