Hey , I've just created a site and it's three weeks old. It is currently on Page 5 ; but for a week or two was on Page 1-2. Yesterday it suddendly dropped down to Page 5 and I have no reason why it did this.

I was wondering how long it would take a new site to Gain trust in Google and start to rank highly?

Some of my sites rank on page 1 in a day or two and some rank on page 3 or 4 then gradually move up to the first page over a few weeks.

Your site might jump back again from page 5, new sites tend to jump around quite a lot before they settle.

It is normal just like other sites and I would suggest that advertise your site's product by using different link building techniques. Create a content for the informative story of your site.

This is normal. It's referred to as the Google Dance. Give your site 3 to 4 months to gain trust, become more stable, and start to rank higher.

Just want to touch up a bit about the Google Dance, which is when the search engine giant updates their index. They actually recalculate the ranking of each webpage that the bot has crawled – so you do need to give your site some time to rise up the rankings while Google does its job.

If it is an exact match domain, it may take just a couple of days to reach page 2 or even page 1.

When you say a couple of days tobe on page #2 or #1

do you mean straight after you have just created a site?

with having an exact domain or did you mean because the first post said it was 3weeks old and in a few days they could be on the #2 or #1 page.

Let's put it this way. In the past two weeks, I have created about two dozen sites. About 7 of them are on page one with some manual back-linking done. A couple more are on page 2. It depends on your niche, though.

The thing you have is so called google dance. And site's rank depends on what are you doing and what is the competition's of the site's keywords.

New sites always get higher ranking in little time but gradually start dropping. You need to optimize your site by off page SEO techniques for getting higher rankings.
