Is it even worth to bother with PPC at Bing?

I started my first ever PPC campaign yesterday and so far I am rather very disappointed... 228 impressions and no clicks.

I am in one of these so called 'desperate' niches and considering that I have been quite successful with article marketing, I know that there is rather big interest in it.

But it doesn't seem to be the case with Bing PPC. I have four different text ads which are usually displayed in 4 - 6th position... NO CLICKS so far. They seem to be better written than other ads but I admit that I may be a bit bias here.

Are you guys actually getting any clicks from PPC at Bing? In my case it has been a complete waste of time so far.

Thanks.
Andre

I think you are better off focusing on Google adwords traffic to start with and once you have found an ad/landing page combo that converts all the time - expand to, Google Display network, Bing and Yahoo ads, Face book ads etc

It appears that my affair with Google AdWords is just a matter of time. Considering that I am in 'getting your ex back' niche I am worring a bit about taking this direction... they don't seem to like it too much.

2.5% CTR... how did you get Minka Kelly to dance naked on your ads?

The volume in most niches is extremely low on Bing.. the only way to get volume is to bid on really broad terms. In other words, skip the long tail.

This is exactly the impression I am getting. I am bidding on broad terms but so far no clicks out of about 290 impressions. I will wait a day or two more and change my ads. But I still think that they are quite good.

If you follow Matt Levenhagen's method of campaign blasting, it is alright to try out Bing and Yahoo etc. Trial and error, if one campaign does not work, review your ads and move on to another one.

It is important to diversify. In the event that google suspends your account for some unknown reason, you still have something to fall back on.

It's only worth it if you want to make money :-)

Seriously though it just takes some good keyword research... testing... and optimizing.

search volume is very low but for super competitive industries it could make sense.

We're pretty much break-even with PPC on Bing, and have had more success with AdWords. Our traffic from Bing is approx. 1/7 what it is from AdWords, and the ROAS is +20% on AdWords.

If I were only choosing one, I'd stick with AdWords.

Well you get Yahoo and Bing together, and while search volume is lower its a significant chunk of people still checking their email on yahoo/msn. Also you can very easily import your adwords ads into the Microsoft ad center interface to run parellel campaigns, so why not try it?

Not worth it as volume is too low.

Yes, I can conclude that PPC with Bing was a complete waste of time in my case... and I took it quite seriously.

We do really well with one of our business. Cost per conversion with Yahoo and Bing is about $2 less than Google, but the volume is about 1/3. Still worth it though. You really just have to keep testing to find the sweet spot.

Well, I don't know what else I could do... I have educated myself about PPC quite well and I would say that my ads were better than the rest.

English is actually my third language but I have been always quite good with writing. It wasn't unusual for me to get 300 ~ 400 views per article in a single night from articles published at Ezine. And they were converting very well.

I've got all my campaigns on pause as I've been getting 100% CTR's on nearly every keyword I bid on. Every impression results in a click (except for a few with 50% CTR's)

My ads aren't that good so I don't know why this is happening.

      Somehow... I don't believe that.

Personally I use AdWords, adCenter for Bing and Facebook Ads. Several of the points brought up here are very valid. More general keywords will get you more impressions, however, if you have a small niche, then maybe you can afford to up your bid. In AdWords positions 4-6 work great for me too, but in Bing I try to be in the top 3, my average position (for a campaign that spends over 1k a month) is 3.3

The real trick with Bing is since they only report conversions and not revenue, sometimes it is hard to figure out the ROI. I use Antvisit so for this purpose.
