Huh? Why would that be overkill? If you linked up 500 high authority sites per page it would not be overkill. The "google sandbox" is a myth, but a pervasive one that a huge amount of Warriors still somehow subscribe to.

If it truly was true, all you had to do to kill off your competition would be to backlink your competitor's sites with a few thousand backlinks overnight and they'd be out of the running. But it doesn't work like that.

So yeah, keep building those links.
