Replacing website without losing rankings

Hey Warriors,

Thanks for reading

So with all my SEO knowledge and experience here's something I never bothered actually doing, therefore I'm looking for others who have had a successful experience in replacing their website(s) with no negative effects.

Basically I have top rankings that bring in good $$ every month so I can't mess it up. I'm only going to work with a tested and proven method.

This is for one of my older sites that I built with XSitePro (original version)...All I want to do is switch over to the wordpress platform since I've become so comfortable with the magnificent beast. Content, titles, images, everything will remain 100% the same about the site except for the layout which shouldn't matter.

What is the best way to make the switch without messing anything up?

  • The most important thing is to set up permanent redirects from each of your current pages to each of the new pages. The reason is because the WordPress permalink structure is different from your current URL structure, which probably ends in .html, .php or something similar.

  • You will end up have a bit of a Google Dance issue to deal with,
Will you be changing over your server ip ?

If your pretty serious about making sure thing go right you may want to get the help of an SEO, if they know what they are doing the negative effects will be minimized.

    Best of luck

I was more worried about messing up the site in any way!
