Showing up on Yahoo, but not Google...yet

I have been working to rank my website for some local terms using a few techniques I have learned here at the WF. The site is over a year old, but I haven't ranked for anything because I just checked it before I started my off-page SEO to see what I was up against.
In the last week or so, I have done a few small efforts here and there, trying to take it slow, and tonight I ran Rank Checker and found myself ranking for several terms on Yahoo, some of the first page for my terms (
), so I am happy about that, but I am still not showing up in Google at all.
Is this normal? Does Yahoo usually index you first??
