Hello Warriors!

After doing CPA for quite some time, I am thinking about going into websites/SEO and all that stuff. I already chose, something that I think could be a good micro niche (good, as in $5-$10 a day, that's a lot for me, I am just 16 ). Now, I need help deciding if this is really a good one.

My "niche" is a free game time card for a very popular MMORPG. Since it is a MMORPG which costs $15 a month, many people (mainly kids and teens) don't have/can't pay that subscription so they are often DESPERATE to somehow get a game time card free, even if it's using hax or card generators (which are all scams btw). I remember that when I couldn't really afford my subscription, I signed up and did quite a lot of these offers to receive a free game card.

As far as monthly searches go, the keyword gets about 10k a month, pretty low competition (yahoo answers and youtube on top spots).

Oh, and I was thinking to monetize my site with CPA offers and/or being a affiliate with a "gift" site (where you earn points for filling out some offers, and then can spend them on gifts).

So, could you please help me decide? IS this a good niche or should I look somewhere else? ANY help will be greatly appreciated ))

Cheers,
Dominium

Posting your keyword publicly may tempt someone to steal it from you, if it's a good niche. Especially in a place like this. You might want to be a bit cautious.

There's not a doubt in my mind that the niche has potential for serious financial gain.

What's the competition like below Yahoo Answers in the SERP's? Check their backlinks (golden rule = quality > quantity). Make absolutely sure you're picking the best possible keyword.

How you monetize it is up to you. You might find yourself trying a few different tactics. Some will work much better than others.

You mentioned that there are a lot of fake cracks/generators for this product.
You might want to consider adding in the word "genuine" someplace at the end of your title- not for the search crawlers, but for real users who are more inclined to click on a page that claims not to be a scam.

Don't make the same mistake as 75% of the neophytes in this subforum. Build quality links (that's what sets you apart).

Thanks for the great tips, Orvn! Exactly what I needed

Good idea with adding the "genuine" word! I also have a pretty good plan to get more traffic. There are TONS of videos on youtube that claim to get you free game cards, some of them are hacks, other scams and (very popular) email sending. It works this way: you send them a email with *lol* codes such as

      <<<<<BODY>>>>
      <<ab123 YOUR ACCOUNT NAME 321ba>>
      <<ACCOUNT PASSWORD>>

etc. Obvious scams. I could make some videos showing that these are scams, and pointing the people searching for free game cards over to my website!

      Anyway, thanks so much!
      Cheers!

I did some backlink checking with Webmaster Tools & SEO Tools and this is what I found:
The first non-yahoo answer non-youtube website is on the 5th place on page 1, and has... 7 PR0 backlinks! That means, that if I got just a couple of high-quality backlinks I should be able to out-rank him, right?

From what you've described, you should be able to rank it with a couple of authority backlinks. Don't forget to start your page title off with your keyword.

Here's a cool rule I like to go by in cases like this: an easy way to rank for a keyword is to get a link from someone who already ranks for that keyword.

Go to Y!A and post a question from one account, answer it from another (more mature account to allow links) and post a link to your site = relevance + authority. You could do this a couple of times if you like.

Try this technique and shoot a press release with a link to your site.

Those two links alone should rank you in under 24 hrs (srsly).

I've heard about the Yahoo Answers method, and yes that's one of the ways that I want to get backlinks. Thanks for the link to that discussion, very interesting indeed!

    Alright, reporting after 2 days:
-I registered my domain and got hosting
    -Website is now fully built
    -Content locker installed
-It is already indexed in google, not ranked yet thoe...
-I have done 2 Press Releases and a Yahoo Answers backlink (it's no-follow??)
-Submitted ~120 Articles with a do-follow link to my website via Article Marketing Robot
-Did a couple of blog comments on high PR gaming-related blogs.

Now I guess I can just wait and hope that it will show up somewhere, some day

Oh and I also did some basic on-page SEO, such as H1 tags, title etc. etc. also interlinking

    Cheers,

Another update after, what, 1 week? Or maybe a bit more I don't even remember...

As far as SEO goes, it's going great! Just 4 days ago I wasn't in top 100 for my main keyword, 2 days ago I was 72nd, yesterday 34th, today.. 21st! And it's raaaaising

For my second keyword, I am already 18th.

I haven't checked rankings for other keywords, but I saw some traffic (single visitors, but still) from some weird, loong keywords.

I am having some problems converting the visitors - quite a couple of my visitors go over to my download page, but not many of them even click on the LeadBolt offers. But with only ~20 uniques a day, I am positive

Thanks for your helps, mainly orvn, lot's of great tips

Going to build some Hubpages/Squidoo's now. Can I use the exactly same articles I used on my website, or should I spin them? Or write new articles? And how many articles/squidoo lens or hubpage?

    Thanks!

If you can consistently build some links every day or so, your site should get to the top and stay there. If you build some initially, and then stop, you might find your site dropping off after a little while...
