Is IM Really A Long-Term Source of Income?

I have on multiple occasions had Pay Per Click campaigns running so well that I was making 100s per day, only to have the company I was earning from months later, shut down their offer, leaving me without income.

I have also had websites that were once ranked #1 on Google get penalized for some reason, and lose all the rankings I had worked for, and I hear this is happening to LOTS of people.

How many people has this happened to? Is IM really a long term source of income or is it only short lived? I mean Internet Marketing has only been around for the last 10 years or so, how do we know it will be around in another 10 years? Maybe we will all be out of a job. Who really knows?

Can you create your own products, similar to the products you made good sales from as an affliate?

Skip the middle man, If you already know what brings in the sales.

Lets put it this way, I started in 99-2000 promoting a single CPA offer (they weren't called that, in fact I don't think that term was coined yet at the time) but it was not my primary source of income, more like something I enjoyed that let me spoil myself a bit, for years.

Its now my only job and has been for years. You want to get your own products up, you want to promote other people's products, maybe get some offline or SEO clients, add some niche sites with AdSense or CPA in there.

The point I'm trying to make is it will take you a while not only to earn enough to be stable and secure with not having another job but to also be diverse enough. The first time I quit my day job I was making a killing for over 6 months, but all of my eggs were in one basket and it dried up and I had to struggle to get going again.

If you work hard enough for long enough it pays off. I also recommend adding as many "passive" earning avenues as possible so you can get residual income, even if its not much, from work you have done in years past. That adds up big time once you've been at it long enough and allows you to work a whole lot less and focus almost entirely on new stuff while still having a dependable paycheck coming in.

    You are thinking incorrectly.

Learning how to sell something well (regardless of channel- online, offline, on the phone, thru the mail) is an excellent source of long term income.

If you can sell, you can write your own ticket anywhere.

So yes, keep working on your internet marketing skills and sell baby sell!
