Hi Warriors,

I have a site Atkins Diet Recipes | Plan Food List | Weight Loss Plan. I managed to get it on the first page of SERPs for keyword "atkins diet recipes" which was good. It stayed there for months going up and down but always on the first page...NOW suddenly it has disappeared completely...It is still indexed but it isn't even in the top 1000...What the hell happened?

I don't think it has breached any google guidelines...i don't think so anyway

Your ideas would be appreciated...Thank you

  • What page are you on, common G penalties are -30 and -100.

    Also it could be just a dance, give it a few days to a week and see if they rebound. Personally I'd get back to work plugging LEGIT looking backlinks and adding some fresh content as that never hurts.

    • What does that mean? are you saying if it turns up on page 30 or page 100 in SERPs it means it has been penalized?

      It isn't even in the top 1000 pages
  • Means, if would have penalized for any reason, the ranking would be decreased by any number between -30 to -100.

    Still, try to avoid get involve with bad neighbors, it really hurts.

      The only one I am associated with is ezarticlelink.com Is that a bad neighbour?
  • Your front page seems to have a filter applied to it. It will come back but time fram is hard.

    A search for the phrase "Welcome to Atkins Diet Recipes where you will learn all about diets for quick weight loss with the Atkins Diet Plan." from your home page returns a tag page, not the obvious and more relevant homepage.

    This isn't keyword related.

  • This has been happening to A LOT of sites in the last 24 hours, just check the rest of the threads in this forum, Google is in the middle of a BIG dance right about now.
  • this has happened to me a few times but they always come back and often in a better position. Not sure why or how.......but don't panic and keep on building!

  • I have fully checked your website. It has been penalized by Google. Homepage content is no more indexed. Your website is in sandbox. Solution is to re-write the content of your website and send re-consideration request to Google.

  • no penalty, its just normal. Youll come back within 2 weeks, if not then wait up to 3 months. Happens to anyone.

    It will be back, if you have a backlinking process for it already, just continue it while you work on the next project.

    • That's all very well but if your site is in the sandbox...you first have to get it out before you worry about getting rankings and my main page has been completely de-indexed (like diyakapoor said) so I need to know why so I can rebuild the page without making the same mistakes...

      I really cant see why it was de-indexed but it is... I have checked as well and it's gone...the other pages are all there although way down but they are still there, so something weird is happening. I think somebody may have hacked me or something...

    • Yeah I believe you...I think it is because I have too many keywords in the first post and the 2nd and 3rd posts have some duplicates,

      Do you say 50 penalize because it is only the homepage that is de-indexed and not the other pages?

      Or do you have some other guru method of knowing that it has definitely been 50% penalized?...because if you do,, please share?

    I did a lot of work on this site for different keywords like orkut Images and sexy scraps.

    Now my website is in top 2 positions for these two keywords.

    I submitted articles, social bookmarking, directory submission, link building.
    Stumbleupon, digg and reddit are the best ones
  • You said in your original post it was still indexed? what makes you think it has now been de-indexed? have you heard from google or tried to contact them?

    Your site looks fine to me. Try also adding a privacy page and contact us form (there are wp plugins for this). I believe this is something they mention in their webmaster info.

    [EDIT] Mine was also completely de-indexed in Google. I was only getting searches through other engines by the way.

    • Yes i did think it was still indexed as I found some of its pages but I have learned that's not the case thru reading this thread ...as some have said on this here "...it is only the main page that has been de-indexed..." just try and find it on google...I bet you cant...it's not there...only the other pages are.
      And i already do have those contact and privacy pages..you can find their links at the very bottom.

      So I need to find out why...I have my suspicions but is that really the reason to de-index? If google de-index a page for having duplicate content ..then that's tuff...I am still not convinced that is the reason or the keyword stuffing..because..come on , it's not that bad is it?

  • my site is 6 months old and was ranked one in google & have the same issue 2 days ago it completly dissapeared from google!
  • It could be that most of its backlinks came from sites that have fallen foul of the Google Panda algorithm, and your site has been punished as a consequence

    • I have two sites, one that is about 8 years old and another about 3-4 years. I used BMR to build links and then they disappeared from the top keyword search. One of them was on page one poss. 4. I could put it down to Panda or I could put it down to BMR. The fact is I really don't know and nobody else does. We are playing a game where the goal posts keep moving and we are guessing at the rules.

      Build more content and ethical links. And hope that it comes back.
