Hi guys... I'd like some feedback on a keyword I'm investigating.

It's a high end amazon product. Both keywords I've found are buying keywords, "keywordforsale"

URL 1) no EMD available, has 2900 exact monthly searches. best url I can come up with is "bestkeywordforsale.com" Competition is not too bad, there are people targeting the main keyword.

URL 2) EMD .org and .net available. 1600 exact monthly searches. Very low competition, all green in market samurai, shouldn't be too hard to get to page 1.

So, url or url 2?

URL 2, lol it's a no brainer. Once you get the rankings you want move to URL 1. It doesn't matter that URL 1 has 2x the searches because If you can't hit the front page it's worthless anyway.

    It's like saying,

If you take the first prize you have a 20% chance of getting $5000,
If you take the second prize, you have a 95% chance of getting $2500.

    Which one would you choose?

I am trying out a domain name with "best" in front of it. It is brand new so I don't have any data to use. I would get them both, but focus in on the .net at first since it is a EMD. In my experience I have had just as much luck with .net as .com when it is EMD. Good luck on your venture.

Cheers, I've heard that .org is better than .net though.

I'll say going for URL 2. Like what InTheMaking says..

If you take the second prize, you have a 95% chance of getting $2500.

Doen't matter if it $8 or $5 per domain. Get both. Link from .net to .org so there you have one very related link. That's what I 'd do.

Are you only posting to get more links from your sig? If you know what to do then do it. You are asking wehter you should get one or the other when they are $5 each. Don't you think you will at least break even if you buy both?

No, I'm not posting to get links from my sig. Last time I checked this was a discussion forum. Your previous comment made no sense, so, using the art of conversation, I queried it.

I'd rather buy 1 or the other, and put all my resources into it.

If you've nothing constructive to add, don't bother replying.

So you are a sole proprietor. When you say all your resources, you mean all your time, right? If you get to the point when you pay people to build the satellite site at the same time while you or your other team develops the main site you'll stop asking these questions. Best of luck! Time is indeed out most precious resource.

My vote goes to - Get the exact match domain, no matter the extension.

I think it is better to having .net in comparison to .org.

Ok, this is weird, both the .net and .org are gone. I used godaddy to search for them yesterday, and am 100% sure that I entered the correct keyword.. I pasted from keyword tool like I always do.

I thought it could be something underhanded, so I checked the .net and .org on whois.net... they were registered in april of this year... weird.

Back to the drawing board I guess.

Regardless, owning more of the domains will prevent competitors from taking them as well as give you the ability to have more power in the top 10. Satellite sites are a pretty common technique.

If it is a hit and run campaign then I would personally get the EMD making cash and then use those funds to buy the other domain. If money isn't an issue then grab both.

2 of my highest earning sites are .org's.
My .net domains have always disappointed.
.com's are the best of course.

Everything else is a waste of time.

Are these .orgs information sites? I think .net is better for physical products.
