  • URL > 100 characters? Interesting. Not sure I buy it, but interesting nonetheless.

    • His research was based on real life stats scraped from google searches so I buy it 100% The 100 char domain also made me question it but turns out 100 char domains have many keyword combinations both long tail and short tail thus increased ranking ...
    • Yeah that's a weird one, I've heard all of that stuff before and don't usually pay much attention (and probably won't about the URL length either) but it's just weird.

  • I also have doubts on the 100 characters. Probably meant long Tail keyword in domain. The hyphen I knew already, but thanks for the info...

  • These kinds of things fluctuate and get seriously affected by Google's periodic and abrupt algorithm changes. Maybe this kind of report will influence when it happens.

    • Hes runs his stats software daily by the looks but its not available to anyone except himself... He only showed a few questions too as detailed above.
  • this is from 1/11/2010. How is this even helpful in 2011?

    • The changes Google have publically made know don't seem to have effected the above questions so while what you say its valid its also invalid in that some of the above statistics still apply!

  • "and if we are lucky to be chosen we might be able to join." yeah and only 12 can join...LOL!

I am on the webinar now, I like the idea but why do they have to use those old pressure selling tricks?
  • Found this link: Scam Checker Report: niche atms Nathan Anderson and Niche ATMs scam

    And this one: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...k-his-s-t.html

I wonder if these bad post are just from competitors, etc and Nathan A. is the real deal and this is a good one? It's price structure now is pretty good IMO. I have no idea about this NicheATM2.
  • good work from some methods i am satisfied but from not all
  • Given the number of variables in the ranking algorithm, if you wanted to formulate a statistical test to identify what effect a single variable has, then you would need a sample size into the tens of millions.

The only thing analyzing 17000 will give you is statistical noise.

Add on to this the fact that the algorithm changes regularly, any analysis has a shelf life that can be measured in days.

Bottom line, if you paid for this you wasted your money.
  • Thanks Girard for your insight! I am so thankful to guys like you who have enough forethought to give everyone else a "heads up" on B-S like Niche ATM's so that I don't take the bait on worms who try to steal our money one more time! You're the MAN! Thanks again - JR-TX
  • 2010 ? It's 2012, mate.
I hope you didn't pay for this webinar.
  • I got an email about this from Kevin Wilke (Local Business Money Machine).

The idea behind the system is great, but I just don't buy this "drag and drop system".

I attended the webinar, got some good ideas with local marketing (then again, I have zero experience in this are as I have been with amazon affiliate marketing these past few months)

I've been searching for reviews on this one, and so far I haven't read any good feedback from customers.

    They're offering it for $ 3K - I said no way!

  • I also heard some of these rules but didn't make sure. And also i heard, using hyphens in root domain decreases the ranking while hyphens in sub domains increases. And I learn somewhere that, its always better to have the data and TLD and 1st level domains. Increasing domain levels will affect in ranking. For example,

    domain.com/nokiac5-05 is always better than
    domain.com/mobiles/nokia/c5-05

    Am I right?
  • I don't see how people can run a test like this - no matter how many searches you do - and be able (claim) to isolate a few factors out of over 100 used by Google. Actually, I know how. They can't. The test is flawed. You cannot possibly say that "having the domain start with the keyword" is good if you can't remove other effects of tose 99 other factors Google uses. Actually, you cannot even be certain that they use this particular factor to determine ranking or know all the factors being used.

Keyword in the subdomain: very likely.
Having the domain start with the keyword: Somewhat likely.
Having a .org domain extension: I don't buy it.
Having a URL longer than 100 charectors: I don't buy it.
The thing with the dash before and after: I don't totally buy it but plausible.

The phrase "increase ranking" is also used for all. This supposes you'd have a starting point of reference. You can't just type in "green plastic widgets" and see green-plastic-widgets.org come out on top and say it's because the domain is the exact search and that it's a dot org and that it's because it has dashes in the domain.

Thunderbird also correctly pointed out that things fluctuate and Google's algorithm changes which will affect such tests.
  • "Does having a - after your keyword in the domain increase ranking? YES
Does having a - before your keyword in the domain increase ranking? YES"
OMG seriously ? why is that ? ( sorry if It's a noob question, I'm completely new to this thing )
  • Why are we bumping a thread from over a year ago? I'd say the results of a study from 2 years ago is pretty outdated in the SEO world!
  • Oops sorry I didn't see that It's outdated
  • Looks as legit today as the day it was posted/recorded (or whatever)... not.

    WTF.
