Warriors,

Something weird is going on:

When I search for my site milkshakemakers.net in google it doesn't appear in the search engine. (Cant find the results anywhere).

If I login with my gmail address & search it, I find the site on the 2nd page.

This happened after the panda update.

Can someone please assist with some useful feedback.

You need to make sure your domain name is visible to search engines by whatever company you bought you domain name at... make some back links to your site through blogs, articles and videos... then go to tubemogul.com and it'll send your videos to the most popular video websites so you don't have to do it manually. This is a start for you to rank high on google.com and other search engines like bing and yahoo.

    You are indexed in Google.

If you type site:milkshakemakers.net in the search bar of Google, your site shows up.

It shows up #2 in the rankings when you are logged in because Google gives you personal results. If there is a site you go to a lot, it is going to rank higher. When you are not logged in, you are seeing the search results that anyone else would see.

I would need to know what keyword you are searching for to tell you exactly where you are ranking, but if you can't find it, then your ranking is probably pretty low.

He's right. So if you optimize your site then you'll get a higher ranking so use the keyword tool and find something with high value and buy the domain name of that and link it to your website. Lots of beginners think just because you have the keywords in the website name then they automatically come number 1. This isn't the case you still need back links and other ways to be know first.

I wouldn't just go buying other domain names for backlinks. All that is going to get you is a bunch of PR 0 backlinks. Plus, unless you have separate hosting, you are just getting a backlink from the same IP address as well.

If you mean something different, then I apologize.

They are for visibility only, backlink pages are just going to direct someone to your offer. Besides I'm sure you already have backlinks. Strong domain names are good for when you are optimized. They will get exactly what they are looking for and TRUST me it is hard rank for that domain name here is why. Walmart, Amazon among many others have "authority" and in order to compete with them you need to not directly compete with them but indirectly There are not enough searches(about360) when it comes to google to share the wealth if you're not ranked the top 3. Trust me Amazon alone has over 2 BILLION backlinks that direct to their site. Remember traffic, traffic, traffic. You only have about 20 backlinks so don't directly go head to head with them. Their are different keywords that can move you above them. I Trust only what works and this works, your site is new so please take this info in and save yourself some serious time.

You're joking right? Those Amazon and Walmart pages have zero backlinks to the actual page. Those are not hard to outrank. In fact, when I see Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. on page one, that is normally a sign that it is easy to get top rankings. The only exception to that would be if the individual page had a lot of backlinks as well.

If you are running from Amazon listings, you are probably missing a lot of good opportunities.

Sorry, you're right, I don't mind admitting when i'm wrong. I was doing so much that I mixed my lists up. This is a rare mistake for me lol. But never the less he's right, use what I told you and you'll crush the backlinking. This is a easy keyword that you can quickly dominate.

Those sites rank from sheer authority. If they were "so easy," these threads would
not appear on the WF. Backlinks are not a reason for a site being #1. I have no
idea why people still think that way. Wikipedia, amazon, buy, ebay, etc., and
just like the warriorforum, have stuff ranked from their authority. Has nothing
                to do with backlinks.

Case in point: This thread now ranks #10 for milkshakemakers.net
and guess what? Not a single friggin backlink. That, my friends, is
the power of authority. Easy to beat? Hardly. It's not called "authority"
                for nothing.

Looks like you are in competition with milkshakemaker.net. Even they get
the pants beat off them for milkshake makers by those so-called easy to
                beat authority sites.

I don't disagree with your opinions often, but in this one I do.

If you look at the top 10, yes their are "authority" sites, but there is really nobody trying to rank for that term. No onpage SEO whatsoever. No backlinks to the individual pages.

By saying that they would be easy to beat, I did not mean to imply that it would happen in a week. However, with good backlinks and proper onpage SEO, those kinds of individual pages are not difficult to outrank. It might take two to three months with a brand new domain, but it certainly can be done.

All this illustrates is the power of authority in a completely uncompetitive niche.

You are number 11 but you need to pick a better key word because the one you chose is difficult to rank, you need more back links and it'll be a good idea to list your domain name in the yahoo directory.

Actually, the competition in the top 10 for that keyword is EXTREMELY easy. You will have no trouble ranking.

The bigger problem is that the keyword only gets 320 searches a month.

  • The keyword with low search is useless but we can bring it top by SEO because if the keyword with low search is having low competition and thus it is very easy to bring it up on google.

You are ranked #4 for "milkshake makers". Congratulations. Just some suggestions - your right navigation content is too long compared to your main content. You may consider fixing or rearranging the content. Make sure that the third party site that you are linking to will open to new window so that visitors will still be able to browse your website - not clicking the "back button" all the time.

Can someone please explain to me why people are messing with Panda? What's the purpose? Everyone who messes with Panda that I talk to seem to have trouble with the updates afterwards.
