Has anyone experienced problems with backlink indexing?

So we all know link-building is dispiriting when you make 1000 forum profiles and only one of them gets indexed :p

So I'm looking at buying a backlink indexing service. But I've heard a few people say "no you should never do this, google will slap you down hard."

Equally some people say you might do some dancing but will recover (par for the course anyway when you're building links.)

does anyone have any experience to share on what's happened to your sites after backlink indexing?

Backlinks take time to be indexed, they have to be crawled by a search engine spider. As long as the main site itself is indexed and the profiles are viewable without being logged in they will get indexed (also I hope you're not using Google or similar to see as they don't hardly ever update and only put small numbers up, use something like SEO Spyglass).

Just wait, they will drip in slowly and look more natural this way; stop worrying and keep link building!

And screw paying someone google about turning a list into a RSS feed then submit it to top RSS feed sites, it will get them indexed much faster.

Linklicious is good at getting links crawled (different to indexed, but it's better than nothing and should mean they are more likely to get indexed).

You could try Backlink Energizer or BacklinkBooster.com too for improving indexation rates. Aparently these tools are good, but I couldn't say personally.

Another thing you could do to improve indexation rates is to build links to your links manually (probably not worth it for forum profiles though - this is better for articles, etc. I think). Anyway, you could do this by submitting each page with a link on to some social bookmarking sites and using blog comments or posting them on Twitter.

I have found that Linklicious is good for getting more low quality links (like forum profiles) indexed, but don't expect anything better than 5% (or at least that's my experience with these sort of links). Still, that's better than 1/1000.

I have always built links gradually - not in blasts of 1000s at a time, and the same with using indexing tools - I drip feed the links through them. I believe this helps to prevent my sites getting penalised, and in my experience it seems to work. However, I also build links from a range of sources (not just profiles), which may have an effect too.

If you do use an indexing service or something like linklicious, I would not recommend putting all the links through it in one go. Doing it gradually and making it look natural is likely to be best. Maybe I'm just being too careful though!

Thanks all for the feedback. I've found a good semi-automated solution to try for free using a mixture of rss and pinging, so I will use that for now and monitor my results.

I can only speak from my personal experience and testing but after getting a bunch of my old backlinks indexed and continuing to do so on a regular basis my Rank went from page 3 to page 1 without. And that's without me doing a whole lot of anything else. I am a big believer in slow drip though. I recommend backlinksindexer.com basic plan which is what I've been using with great success.

I don't have indexing problems on most of my links, but profiles are the exception. I usually just use pinging services or Linklicious.

Additionally, People put a little too much emphasis on getting indexed. Its great, but you can rank just as well without indexing as long as your getting your site crawled and google knows about it. Which is what linklicious does...it pings your site until google crawls it.

So true - far too many people focus on getting links indexed, spending hours upon hours setting up manual processes to attempt to get low quality profile links indexed.

The time could be used for much better purposes!

I use SEnuke X in my backlinking strategy which comes with a built in Indexer.

      VERY handy and VERY effective!
