Hi Warriors,

How long does it take for a website to rank on Google?

Lets say the niche I'm trying to rank has the following criteria:
1. Has a keyword rich domain in either .com, .net, or .org
2. With no more than 100,000 competing pages on Google. (When searched in quotes)
3. The top 1 competition has no more than PR 4 and 300 backlinks.
4. Assuming the top 1 competition has an on page fully optimized.

I like to know from you guys who have the experience.

Thanks

Typically 1-2 months for a page 1 ranking with a basic SEO plan.

There is a LOT of variables you have left out though. It could really take anywhere from a few days to a few months without knowing all the factors involved.

    Cheers,

2-3 months depending on your domain name and there are other things to consider as well.

Google is onto this. It's also placing more value on social proof and your link being on places like Facebook, Twitter etc where you cannot place a keyworded link.

I'd concentrate on long tails related to your main keyword and then google will give you love on not just your main keyword but also many, many others around it. I think there's greater longevity in this.
Well said Chris... While mini-sites still seem to be the strategy of choice, Google is clearly moving away from them and favoring larger, more content rich authority sites. The days of 3 to 5 page sites targeting a few keywords are truly numbered and I wouldn't recommend anyone spent time or money with this approach.

Instead of trying to create 30 small targeted sites, you'd be much better off creating a site with 100+ pages of content in a niche that has many keywords and products to support it and create long term quality and value.

It's possible to rank well in a matter of hours, but there's no telling how long it might bounce around for before properly stabilising.

The PR is just about links so you could beat the competition on that very quickly if you had some budget.

It is not very clear what criteria Google use to rank a site. I have noticed that a well search engine optimized article can take 2 to 5 days to rank.Link building and good content help in site ranking.

If you don't know what kind of backlinks the competitor has, then you know nothing about him. Those 300 links could be trashy profile links or his first tier of high pr blog network.

Its all relative to the types of links and quality of content you are building. If you are building out a low quality site, with 3-5 pages and crap content with mass low quality links than it could take a very long time and you may not even rank at all.

If you build out a killer site, with amazing content and high quality links it could take as little as a month or two to hit the first page. Build out a site that people want to link to and let people build the links for you! Create great content so that Google comes back to index your website more and more frequently.

It depends on many factors but typically 3-6 months to see long term results. Sometimes much sooner

I echo what many warriors have previously said, however this is my take on things.

If you have done proper on page SEO, with things like h1, h2 tags, KW density etc, then you will rank quicker with the right backlinking plan.

When it comes to off page SEO, you need links, and lots of them. However when I say lots, they simply HAVE to be quality links, none of these "7000 xrumer blasts". You need quality links from a variety of different link sources and build these links consistently.

I used this formula on a small site which I built in March and it is now #3 on Google for the main KW and is making me rather a nice bit of income!

    Hello,
It is difficult to know the proper time that when Google ids going to crawl your site. Google makes and updates the rules and regulations on the daily bases. It generally crawls a site in 15 day or a month some time it takes a bit longer to rank a page .You have to maintain the quality of your sources and contents to get good feedback from goggle.
