Are You at Risk of Losing Rankings?

If you are using a cheap web host beware

For about half a year my web server was getting slower - mainly because it was shared. I thought about switching but I kept procrastinating ended up not doing so.

Eventually the web server got so slow over a period of a few days that Google site performance chart showed a 21 second response time (96% slower than most sites).

2 of my #1 ranked niches got dropped to 10-11 while every other keyword on every other niche got wiped completely.

A month and a half later, the ranks remained unchanged (in fact, just slowly dropping).

I registered new domains did a 301 and I gained higher ranks (main keyword up to 4 from 10 in less than a week) than before (I believe the domain itself was the problem, Google lost trust in it regardless of the backlinks)

The kicker, my other sites on other servers were unaffected and are still fine (so it's not my SEO)

If you care about your business and it looks like your server is getting slower.. upgrade, switch out, or be ready to suffer a drop.

I was hosting with HostGator
