Steve, For people like me that just found this thread a few days ago, it took me a while to get to the point where I realized that you hadn't posted anything for a bit. Sounds like you have your priorities straight. I'm not easily impressed, and I am totally impressed that you have put it all out there for everyone to see. If nothing else, I hope it gives some new folks the ABSOLUTE PROOF that you have to take action - and careful action - to get any results (even if it's not quite $100/day...yet). By action, I don't mean spending $1500-$5000 for a 'guru' course with 250 videos you have to watch until you can effortlessly make '$120,000 per month'. I'm not new to this stuff, and I've made a few thousand (and lost a few hundred) working my own niches and angles. But there is no way in heck that I have the nerve to stick it out there on a site that thousands visit daily. BRAVO, man. Keep it coming. |

What this thread has done for me is it has shown that it is more than realistic to make 100.00 per day in adsense. It certainly isn't an easy task to obtain results close to this, if you look at the work and effort Steve has been putting into his example blog, it's quite obvious there is no easy or quick way to do it. But to me, just the fact that Steve offers us a bird's eye view of his progress is hopeful to many of us who had written off adsense as a viable income stream. I can also say that since this thread began I started paying much closer attention to my adsense blogs - and because of this my earnings and CTR have increased almost 400%. There are some potential winfalls out there that most of us lose patience to keep trying, and I'm glad that Steve is giving us a reason to keep believing in the possibility. I really could care less if he reaches 100.00 a day. He will still have proven his case by reaching only 1/3rd of that amount. After all, if you achieve 1/3rd of the goal, there may be 2/3rd's worth of work left, but all the guessing and wondering is over. |

Thank you for the response (although your assumption that we're "new guys' based only on the question asked was unnecessary). I have used Lunar Pages (since this is what the gaming folks recommend) for years while building my own sites. Since I've spent the majority of time designing from scratch, I wasn't aware that WordPress.com didn't allow adsense (and I, like you, didn't care for the Blogger restrictions). So sometimes what you see as the 'obvious', isn't always quite so. Thanks for the assist though...it's appreciated. Debi

My aim is to have 20 blogs earning $5 per day each and i have given myself a year to do it. I am currently following Steves Cash Cow guide to adsense (which i must say looks worth every penny) incorporated with 2 WSO offers on premium backlinks and video content for blogs. |

Hi Steve, For those of us following this who have no website experience , do you give permission for your privacy policy to be reproduced? If not, how do you suggest going about getting one? I am assuming you did not pay legal fees to produce yours. Many thanks. |

Hey everyone, I've been following this thread and reported several weeks ago how inspirational this has been for me...so thanks again for starting this Steve and to everyone participating. The good thing is that I am up to about $25.00 per day now and growing, plus a couple hundred dollars in affiliate sales too and some commissions are recurring. But the real reason I'm writing today is because of a change I made on my sites that I wanted to share with you that greatly increased my CTR because it puts the ad units right in there faces when they visit my sites... Previously I had one 480 X 60 ad unit at the top of every page/post and one after every page or posts content. So one at the top and one at the bottom. I also have a 160 X 600 ad unit in the right sidebar positioned so you can see at least part of it on the top fold. The change I just made that boosted my CTR was to replace both 480 X 60 ad units with 336 X 280 ad units. They are centered on the pages/posts and the text does NOT wrap around the ad units. I kept the 160 X 600 ad unit in the right sidebar. The reason I don't have the text wrap around the ad units at this point is because these sites have some reviews on them and the wrap thing totally messes it up as far as how those specific review pages look. If or when Max Banner Ads does an update that will allow us to omit certain pages/posts from showing ad units, then at the point I will probably go to a slightly smaller ad unit that will allow the text to wrap around it. Question... Has anyone experimented with giving the background of your ad units a little bit of color? Did it work? I realize this has been a long time argument with Adsense to either make your ads stand out or let them be obscure, however, I've never heard what really works. Steve |

Steve, Do you think the change in CTR was due to the change in position or the change in ad format size? I use the one large ad above my post and one at the bottom, and notice that most of the time, not many clicks on the one above, but get lots from the bottom ad unit. I'll give your method and try and see what happens. Thanks for the tip. star |

Wonderful info... I too am going to try this out, in a different field. If I do succeed, and makes $100 a day, you will receive $1000 as a "fee" or "thank you". I will also report the full process (if indeed I do succeed) in these forums. |

Ok, for everyone who has read this thread from start to finish, Steve has very clearly laid out his method on this one project to achieve his goal. Most people who have tried different niches realize that if you go after one niche, and it's not looking the way you expected after a short time, then you might start in a different direction. But I think it goes without saying that Steve's project was a success! He can easily get to the $100/day goal with continued traffic growth and seo linking from themed sites, etc. I realize I am new to this forum, but am not new to Internet marketing, SEO or eCommerce. So what I am asking is this: For those who have read this thread and have thought of ways to improve on Steve's journey, don't hide your ideas. This thread is invaluable. If you are able to come up with ways to improve on this, then share them with the audience. What one responder said is exactly true. He told Steve that because of this thread he will be more eager to follow his newsletter, blogs, eBooks, etc, because he has proven that he will give something of value, not just the same old marketing stuff. Let us challenge ourselves to be as transparent as Steve has been! BR |

I have a question. If I use PLR articles for my website and I do not change the content = duplicate content and then I add Adsense, will or can Google close my Adsense account? |

No you will be fine so long as the content is within adsense TOS. Duplicate content is not a problem as far as Adsense is concerned. |

Do you think it is a stupid idea? Should I rather rewrite the articles? The site is a regional site such as .co.uk, it is actually .co.za (South African) so it will be limitted. |

So far as Adsense goes, they don't like "Made of Adsense" sites. If your site fits that profile then you might run into trouble. You can use PLR content and not be MFA or use original content and be MFA in Google's eyes. However, having 100% dupe content can tilt the score away from your favor. To quickly modify PLR content for an Adsense WordPress blog do the following. 1. Rewrite the article title to fit your targeted keywords 2. Writing an original opening paragraph using your primary keyword in the first sentence 3. Add in a few easy changes such as a filler paragraph or modifying a few sentences in the body of the article. 4. End with an original closing paragraph that includes your primary keyword in the last sentence 5. Use All-in-One SEO or Platinum SEO to put a short, original, description metatag on the article. Use your keywords again here but make it a syntactically correct sentence. 6. Add one or two below the fold links to authority sites (Wikipedia, CNN, etc.) on the keyword you're discussing 7. Use a related posts plugin to bring in content from other posts on your site. 8. Add tags to your post and make sure your theme displays them. These simple steps will help your content avoid a lot of duplicate content filtering and make it site as a whole look more legit.
