That makes good sense. Anything I can get someone to do for me I'm all in favor of. About how many of the posts that are made are garbage posts? I would think that a number of genuine posts, even if unflattering would indicate a healthy readership and perhaps even a returning readership. On the other hand, if the basis of the blog is to get people to click would having a high rate of returns and comments be a negative thing? Might that be an indication that the blog is too interesting?

I'd actually love to find a plugin that allowed me to give instructions to commenters in the comments box... anyone know of any plugins that do that? In the case of this particular blog adsense is only a sideline. My main thrust will be affiliate programs and sales of the automated blog posting software that I have master resale rights to. However, the adsense block really stands out because it is white against a black background.

Hi Steve, great project! I'm a Cruise addicted and I just found this great thread! I have a question for you. In one of your first posts you wrote this: "Assuming I get on average for this niche $0.50 per click from adsense (could be more, could be less) but I won't know until it is up and running. For $100 that would mean 100 divided by 0.50 = 200 clicks per day on average to get to this level. I will aim for a click through rate (CTR) of about 10% which means I will need 200 x 10 = 2000 visitors to my blog per day." Now that the project is running, can you give us more details about visitors and CTR and average click value? You wrote you needed 2000 visitors a day for earning 100$..... Now I have seen your stats image and you get max 226 visitors on 11 Mar 2009. I do the same calc you done before: 226 max visitors => 10% = 22,6 click 0,5$ * 22,6 click => 11,3$ a day But you told us you get 20$ a day .... So where is the mistake in my calc? Can you give us more detail about average stats and earning on your blog? Thanks and good luck |

I'd say he's earning more per click than his original assumption. Remember that it does state that $0.50 per click is an assumption and that it could be more or less.

My average CPC is a lot higher than 50 cents like I originally estimated. I still get the 20 cent clicks but thankfully there are a lot of $1 + clicks.. I also am averaging over 10% CTR, in fact it is nearer 17%.

Hi Julia, I know $0.50 per click is an assumption, but I think is a correct "average" assumption. With "More ore less" I intend + o - a % of total..... May be 10, 15, 20 or 25% ..... But in this case Stave has a "more or less" of 50% .... So, if this is incorrect: 0,5$ * 22,6 click => 11,3$ a day This must be the correct: 1$ * 22,6 => 22,6$ a day But we know how much is difficult to have an average click of 1$ .... So I think there are others parameters I wrong in my calcs. I hope Steve answer asap and share with us all this numbers so we can understand how we can get this great earnings. OldCruise |

In fact you bring up an important point that I would like to make. The reason my CTR is above the 10% I had been aiming for is because of the testing phase I went through with Adsense. I tested many different combinations of Adsense blocks, colours and types in different positions. I set up individual channels in Adsense for each block and this is how I determined which blocks were my better earners. Obviously I kept the blocks that were performing and chopped the ones that weren't. There is a fine line between your CTR being to high and I feel my blog is right on the limit. I have already had a few people saying that they think my Adsense blocks are to prominent. I may yet tone down the Adsense a little which will decrease my earnings a bit. I know some of you may think that I am barking mad but I have a theory (and it is only theory) that the Adsense team watch for extra high CTR and flag those blogs as potentially using underhand techniques to get clicks. Like I say, there is no proof of this but it is better to play it safe with regard to Adsense, they are not known for their humility. |

I get a small amount of traffic as a result of using the plugin but the CTR doesn't appear to be worse for using it. |

I thought I might simply include a page giving the rules for posting. I have to include a privacy policy so I thought I would include a posting policy too. Good idea? Or won't it make a difference? The online pharmacies and porno get enough edvertising now, they don't need to piggyback on me.

But, as the thread is growing too fast, I can't catch all the info. Just want to ask, basically how much the monthly cost to achieve 100 bucks a day with your techniques? PS : is there any discount coupon for your cash cow ebook? Just in case, I missed it. Thanks

The monthly cost is basically just for it's share of my server (about $1 a month). There were some initial costs for the domain and the content but that is it. In total I have invested around $300 for the blog as it stands now plus another $500 for articles that I have yet to post. If I just ignore the articles I haven't posted yet, on average the blog is making $23 a day over the past month which means within 2 weeks I have made my investment back. After that, it is pure profit.. I don't have a discount for the cash cow guide running at the moment but it is listed on clickbank..

Hi Steve. I said that enough of adsense but my problem is in generating traffic to my website. I wanted to find out if your book covers this topic. I say this because I purchased several books on adsense and they all say the same thing, but nobody talks about the most important, bring traffic to your niche. Another thing, I'm from Argentina and I do not speak English and wanted to know if the book is in digital format to translate it into Spanish with Google traslator. |

The book does cover the topic of traffic through good SEO both on page and off page. If you use the techniques in the guide you will eventually get ranked on Google for some good keywords which will bring traffic. The guide is about all aspects of building a profitable Adsense blog plus you get the $100 a day report which is the inside story of this thread. The guide is in pdf format.. Whether you can translate from that I don't know and I can't obviously guarantee the results of using an online translator.

Hi Steve, I just started to follow your plan and I use wordpress as my blog template. Becuase this template was downloaded from somebody's website and the adsense unit is used by his ID. So I changed them. The problem is that before changing the ads shows up properly and after I changed it, it only shows public ads. Do you know or anybody else know how to fix it? Thank you. |

The default setting is number one. Which means that if there are no ads available for the keywords included on the page then google will display public service ads. This could be caused by several things including lack of advertisers OR page optimization factors. If your keywords haven't been targeted closely enough then you would probably get those pub-serv ads. So try working on the page optimization as it may fix the problem. Here are some SEO tips on what formats your keywords should appear in.

Thank you Julia. I will try to optimize my page later. But I am still wondering how the ads pull out properly if I use the old adsense unit with somebody else's adsense ID. Once I reset to my own, it disappeared.

Though you have not get to the 100.00 dollar a day mark, I really appreciated what you have done and taught us. Some of us here are starting to say something about having done this to generate or promote your product, but rest assure I would NOT be critical about you on that as this is what we do here. Try to make a living on the internet - online business so to speak. Again Thank you very much Steve, Shellaine |

Wow! You're a brave man steve! People are lazy in nature, especially if we know that it takes a lot of time to succeed, majority are giving up. Sometimes we need to be challenged in order for us to take action, and ideas will always be ideas until we put them into action, and I wanna commend you for taking action on this. Goodluck on your journey to success! |

Steve, I've loved this thread, very informative. One thing I've been wondering about is how do you beat the Google Sandbox? I recently had a niche site get sandboxed and I was curious about your link building strategy or lack of link building strategy related to staying out of the Google Sandbox? Best, |

Has the URL to the blog been released? Being that there are just about 1,000,203,349 pages to this thread... I don't think I'll be able to find the link (if it has been released).
