I've just been skimming over this thread and I must say that your results are pretty impressive. I have yet to utilize AdSense as a form of income but I plan to in the near future with a new health related website. There are definitely clear advantages to using AdSense in order to generate income and it has the potential to be somewhat "passive" over time. |

Dear Steve, I'm happy that you want to run the adsense boot camp. Please allow me to ask questions. What are the differences between your cash cow ebook with the boot camp? Do people who buy your cashcow ebook but don't join your adsense boot camp will earn the money from adsense ? Thanks. -Pixel- |

Just a quick update on the progress of the european cruise blog.. It seems that my main target keyword phrase European Cruises has stabalised on the first page of Google, some countries higher than others. Of course you can never take for granted that a site will stay where it is forever but I just want to outline why it has got to the position it is in now and earning good income. 1. Got backlinks from some of the higher page rank sites that already linked to various sites in Google's top 10 for the keyword phrase European Cruises. 2. Set up accounts on some high PR websites with backlinks and anchor text of European Cruises. 3. Articles on Ezine taken up by various blogs. 4. social bookmarking 5. Link exchanges with other sites already listed on Google for the phrase European Cruises. The next phase will be to target other highly searched phrases and get onto page 1 of Google for those. Phrases like Mediterranean cruises and Norwegian cruises. I believe this will then push the blog up to my goal of $100 a day. Once again, no time limits any more but I will get there. |

You just need to make sure that the articles are good to read and also reasonably popular. Take a look at the popular articles over at ezine and then base your articles on them.. I don't mean copy them either, just take a note of the subject matter and how they are composed. |

I certainly use the opening and closing paragraph when I am using someone elses article on my site. It is a great way of making the article "fit" onto a website and helps get ranking ahead of other sites that use the same article. |

Hi Steve, I see that your blog made it to Google Top 10 for the keyword "european cruises". Congratulations! I followed this thread when you first started with this incredible project, but then stopped for about a month... So, have you reached your goal of making $100 a day with this blog? Farid |

I have just been analyzing the traffic patterns of my European cruise blog and noticed an interesting thing. My web traffic is always at it's highest on Mondays and at it's lowest on Sundays! I guess those Monday morning blues at work get people surfing for cruise vacations!

Steve, I just flipped through all 35 pages of this thread and I must say that even though you didn't make your goal of $100 day, you have still built a site with earnings that that most people would be jealous of. You now have an autopilot site that nearly earns enough to make a mortgage payment. That's nothing to scoff at. Best of luck to you! |

Hi again Steve, Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and it's wonderful to see that you keep replying our comments and questions... I have another question and it's about your "Create Article" strategy. I noticed that you persuade people to write articles for your blog and share the Adsense revenue. And I personally think that this is a GREAT idea! So here are my questions: 1. What script are you using for this purpose? 2. How's the performance (numbers of writers joined, traffic increase, etc)? 3. Do you use the writer's Adsense ID for ALL the ads on the article's page? Or do you mix them with your own Adsense ID? 4. I guess not all articles submitted will be published, right? Thanks for answering Farid |

Hi faridaziz, I have used a content manager plugin that comes with my firepow membership but I have actively used it as such so I cant give you any stats for it. I don't know of any similar plugins but I have no doubt that there is some.

Dear Steve, I want to ask you about few things: 1. I plan to build a site which automatically embed the videos from youtube and install the adsense code there. Am I allowed to do this based on the Google Adsense TOS ? 2. I also plan to track my data with the program called "site tracker". Am I allowed to do this? So I can get the details of my ads performance Kindly give me some explanations. Thanks Pixel. |

To my knowledge there is no problem with using a site tracker like that so long as you don't alter the Adsense code in any way. Think long and hard though about automatically adding videos from Youtube as this potentially could violate the Adsense TOS. Videos are subject to copyright like other types of content and any reports of DMCA infringements can be reported to Google resulting in possible sanctions of losing your account. https://www.google.com/adsense/suppo...en&answer=9892 I personally wouldn't use any automated system for adding content unless I know what the content is and that I am allowed to use it without breaking any rules. As always though, do your own research into this as well.

So long as you have permission to use the video then you are not breaking any rules. People have used videos without permission on Adsense sites for a long time without any problems but it is a big risk. You will only run into problems if the DMCA get a complaint about copyright infringement. They will then get onto Adsense and you then could run into problems with losing your Adsense account, I personally don't think it is worth the risk.. |

However, using YouTube videos on an Adsense site isn't a good idea because it greatly cuts down on CTR. People watch the video and another and another get entertained and forget the question that they came to your site to get answered, preferably from clicking the ads you're displaying. Remember that the ads are supposed to be the star of the show, not a video. | |

Maybe it is a bit overblown but I seem to recall a massive thread here on warrior about this very issue of the DMCA and youtube videos. It is quite clear in the Adsense TOS that they will take action against any copyright infringement brought to their attention, not just videos from Youtube. I quote.. "It is our policy to respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). For AdSense publishers, if we receive a notice or otherwise have reason to believe that your site is infringing, we may terminate your participation in the program." Like I say many people do it and for the reasons you put forward about videos not being that good for Adsense to which I agree, it certainly isn't worth risking using automated scraping of Youtube videos.

This is not the thread I was thinking of in my last post but it is still a good thread on this very point about Youtube and copyright. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...se-videos.html The concensus seems to be that so long as you use the embed code on your site then you are free to use videos from Youtube without fear of copyright infringement. I have just read and tried to decipher the Youtube policy on "user submissions" i.e. videos and it seems that when you upload a video to Youtube you are granting rights to Youtube to use that submission in any way. I think therefore that you need not worry about copyright infringement but I am still not sure if this covers scraping of Youtube using software. |

Hi Steve. Congrats on your very open and honest thread. I have noticed that your site has dropped down to page 3 for 'European Cruises' . 1) How has this effected your traffic the last few days ? 2) Do you think you are been penalised in any way because of different reasons such as age of the domain, big surge of backlinks in a short space of time etc. Getting your site to the top of google is not difficult using web 2.0 properties, however the difficult part is keeping it up there as web 2.0 techniques are seen as short term gains. I would love to hear your views of above |

Well, it only seems to be the US that it has dropped to page 3, most other countries including the UK and Germany are still on page 1, top 5 even.. 1. I have noticed a small drop in traffic as a result but it is all part of the normal Google dance. 2. I don't think it has been penalised but obviously a newer domain is more susceptible to the google dance than older domains. The backlinks are not just from web 2.0 sites that is just one part of the overall promotion strategy. I don't take anything for granted but I hope and expect it to rise up in the US again. I am mainly concentrating on promoting the blog for other keywords now.
