hey I am fairly new to link building for websites, I have just begun to put the finishing touches to my new site and was wondering if there was any other ways to get links other than the ways my friend told me which were blog comments and social bookmarks?
I was just inquiring as I want to know how to best kick off my site

  • You can write articles which contain links to your site in them and submit them to article directories. I've had mediocre results with this though because often a lot of them don't get indexed by Google. Blog commenting is a good way to go if you focus on getting high PR links. I'm also investigating a few link building services at the moment but it's too early to tell if they are working at all.
  • Here's a few more ways:

Submitting press releases to press release distribution services that allow anchored backlinks.

Forum Profile links - Registering at forums and that have the option to leave an anchored backlink in the signature file.

    Hope this helps

  • link building can be the most time consuming part of SEO. You can search these forums for a lot of topics about it, I've noticed a few lists of high ranking sites to post links on. You can always use main sites like squidoo and stuff to create another blog about ur site and post links within ur content. I find that just doing a simple google search for forums related to your site works well too. once you find some high ranked forums, visit them and check the source code for rel="nofollow". Although I believe this wont affect links as much in the future, sites with nofollow sometimes don't get counted toward your backlink score, so i try to avoid them. hope this helps
  • Just starting myself and the first things i have done are -

    - Sign up to a backlink packet and create those backlinks every time you get a new batch.

    - Get scrapebox (one off payment and is one of the must have bits of software) and search for blogs to comment on, plus you can do loads of other things, in the last few hours ive found over 50 do follow blogs

    - Get 20-30 private proxies to use with scrapebox, without private proxies scrapebox is pretty useless.

    - Write articles, submit them to a few of the top article directories (ezine etc)

if you do even just these 3 things consistently every day you will probably reach page 1

    • thanks for the tips! im new to this SEO business this will really help
    • This is Nice Post. Thanks By Share.
  • Start a slow and gradual link building campaign but try not to stop building them until your site is well established. Link velocity is very very important.

    • Link velocity IS important, but it's not critical. I've had sites hit the top of page 1 after stopping link building abruptly and they are still there.

However don't be chucking thousands of rubbish link to your site in a few days and do nothing else. I like to build around 100 links a day for the first 6 weeks that my site is live. Not all of these link to my money site as some will link to my backlinks to give them more authority.

Google LOVES this at the moment!

  • Start with small number of backlinks and then increase these numbers gradually, it will keep your site on safe side.
  • Build links using other methods of link building. Focusing on few methods will not have better results.

Directory submission is the slow link building service but it can improve your business in long time.
press release having above the both of service benifits.

  • You can also get high valued back links from Yahoo! Answers.
Its very powerfull, because Google love Yahoo :-), and therefore those links count in top (even though G doesn't ´t officially admits things)
You can get a low competitive keyword, and rank it to top of Google, s and this is money for you.
In addition, Yahoo! Answers has an enormous mass of traffic every day, and it is not just traffic, this is targeted traffic, much better quality than then search engines traffic.

  • I use profile backlinks and article bios rather successfully it just depends how much variety that you want.
  • I put my link in my signature and forums. Works like a charm.
  • back linking is the most boring, time consuming, mind numbing, pain in the arss part of internet marketing that i know..."but" it is an evil that has to be done. if you are not in a position to farm this out, i do know of two f*ee pieces of software that can really help. article submitter helper, and comment kahana. there are youtube videos to help you with each.

in the beginning i used the above software daily and they work. don't get me wrong back linking is still going to suck!

  • always do commenting on dofollow blog, which is good for ranking.

  • You can reverse engineer your competitor's site to find & then build your own backlinks. Here's how to do it:

There's a little tool that you can use for free right now to spy on your competitors' backlinks: Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch

Just go to the site, enter your competitor's website, and reveal many of their backlinks in a matter of minutes.

How can this tool help you? Use your imagination. If you see that the site that your competitor's backlink is placed on allows dofollow comments (the tool shows this), go make a comment on that same site using your keyword as the anchor text.
