hii guys,,just feeling happy and wanted to give a shout...will make it quick..

Past few months have been really frustrating for me, One of my clients site dropped from 1 st position to 300+ and even after real hard work i was not seeing any results.but i checked yesterday it was on 3rd position on google.com and traffic hiked to great extent. It's now in top rankings for almost every keyword we were trying to rank and many untargetted too ...it means its not temporary change...but i ll wait for few days before i come to solid conclusion..

The site is in finance niche and the first page is ruled by big brands and authorities..About 3,100,000 results (exact)..and so is the case with all decent kw’s in this niche…social media traffic isnt option here except youtube. For traffic you either rank top or buy ads for $20-50/click..

here is what i did...
The very first thing was to restructure site and create new more powerful internal linking structure.
so we started posting quality content 700-1500 word articles.... (for main kw's). for each targeted keyword post ,we created 5 short (250-400 words) posts linking back to this post and interlinking to each other.

next.. we added a new news section to the blog. i subscribed to all gov, service providers sites and every time any news worthy announcement comes we used to post it on news section.the news style is curator type. The first page is more like a landing page and we dont want visitor to go away from first page without filling his details,,,so we added linkback to this news section in homepage footer.

This is all for onpage changes…far as backlinks….we removed all paid links and stopped using any network where we can post content 6-7 months back. The only paid links we got are from yahoo directory and 10 or so paid directories. I stopped bringing any kind of spammy looking links directly to the site.rather I use them extensively on tier 2 links….and I think this is one of the main reason…I have had great success with this kind of tiered linking another sites and they are still improving ,no matter what update they do.

we send out 1 press release every week to 20 or so sites,,,also posting 700+ words articles to article directories. These articles gets syndicated a lot and we get valuable backlinks.
Here is the tip: i regularly look at google news and try to find sites that posts news related to my niche…I contact these webmaster offering valuable news content just for a backlink. These webmasters are hungry for content. These also gets syndicated and brings tons of traffic.but for this niche this is not buyer traffic yet its great for seo and authority.

I still use almost every tool out there every day and night … rather more extensively than ever. Seo is not dead ,you just need to adapt …those who do will prosper … I hope its useful to some of you. Thanx.

Thanks for giving us this update. Of course, you can never be sure the problem had anything to do with Panda, whether what you did actually was the cause of the recovery OR whether it will happen again!

But it seems that this Panda business really is forcing webmasters and SEOs to go to whitehat techniques - basically to start building decent sites and promote them naturally So I guess it's working! Maybe there IS no Panda really, maybe Google just sent the SERPS spinning to get webmasters running scared and fixing their sites! I think my theory is as good as any Panda theory I have heard!

One of my CPA sites have been through the Google Dance for the last 9 months until the latest update by Google. Surprisingly, without doing anything, my site came back to the first page again and started to bring in leads just as it was doing before going through the Google Dance. I can say that it lost its ranks a bit but that's probably because I didn't do any backlinking or updating in the past 9 months as I believed the site will be gone for forever. Now I am glad it is back and working on it to get its higher rank again.

Google makes some strange moves and sometimes they work good for your sites and sometimes they don't.

Well, if site is dropped or it has given low ranking in search engines then what you would do is to follow white hat SEO, no trick related to black hat would work.

i can see my competitors are getting good, bad, spammy all kinda links and they were ranking well, even after panda update. i hv been tracking these sites from long tym and its amazing to see how many fluff and dilemma ids shared around. if u really want to rank for kw...then see the backlinks profile to the top ranking sites,,,replicate them with some good additions..

Nice post and good work, Amoeba. I'm liking your tip on the Google News interaction. Knowing that these guys are crying out for stories, it makes sense that if you have some decent first-hand news for your niche, then they will gladly take it and publish it - with a nice backlink to your site.

I am curious about adding the news section. Do you use a plugin or what? I have a couple of sites with Wordpress and they are in niches that would be very responsive to a news feed of sorts.

Can you elaborate a bit? I have never put anything but original content on my sites and I am a little nervous about losing my PR4 ranking (and the traffic that comes with it)

    Thanks in advance!

Check your site for duplicate content and onpage seo..i prefer running internet business promoter (you can also check with free online tools) to check on page errors..also google for broken link checker and check if there are any broken links..once onpage is error free,,look at your content and when was the last time you updated your content. Try adding content frequently, atleast 2 a week..your offpage seo is most important..start getting as many backlinks as you can..seriously. but just dont go bluntly or spam to hell..start slowly and grow gradually..if your competitors got 300 links then it makes no sense for you to get 30000 links overnight...20-30 a day should do..dont expect your site to jump at 1st position in 10 days..but i m quite sure you will see very good results within first 30-60 days if you work consistently.

i dont use any plugin.i just created a new page in wp and keep adding posts manually.i dont just copy paste the news article or press releases..i add my own view to them. well i am not expert in the niche but i look for same news releases from past and catch their reactions and ask my writer to make it unique and legit.hope this helps.

So do you completely rewrite the press release/news article and make it your own? Kind of like pumped up PLR

That's a great overall strategy, especially the on site changes. Far too often people that are getting hammered by Panda had horrible on site optimization and crap content. Generally overlooking the power of solid, well written content, and a linking structure that makes sense to a user.

Dynamic content isn't something Google likes to see, but well written content that people want to read and related to the niche is highly important.

Done almost the same thing and can see a jump in rank for my site.
    - News
    - Quality articles (not rewriting stuff) on hubpages, squidoo, knol, ezine article and backlink.
The best thing is to write about something around your topic, for example if you target keyword "weight loss" don't ever write tips on it, there are millions indexed, not worth, but if you talk about fashion then add a paragraph on weight loss, you will gain more respect from Google.
    - Post comments on related post.
    - inner links
    - press release
For press release to be effective, you must write something that shocks readers, they will bookmark, share,... giving link juice.
But these seo tips are just 5% of what you must apply for success. 95% will be on page seo, backlinking...

yes,the site is in finance niche. i have subscribed to all authority websites like govt sites, big service providers in industry...whenever they put out press release or update,,,i ask my writer to create a news worthy article around it.many times these updates are really not news worthy,so no one picks them up..but i write an article about it "how its going to impact current/future customers or general public...etc..this gets picked up by many news sites and i get good word out there

You've actually outlined a pretty good strategy. I'm not sure that Panda has anything to do with your backlink profile, but the other advice is sound.

thanx james...if you do quality work no panda can beat you...its just after panda..old push button spammy tactics are less effective and we have to work harder to get the results...survival of the fittest...i still use some semi automated strategies with proper care and works wonders.. the competition for the main kw is now around "11 million" in quotes..the last time i checked it was 3 million'ish...though it doesnt matter much...and no i havent spammed those 7-8 million backlinks...

    Hi there, I have a few Questions;
What more can I do to improve my websites position???
I will start by telling you I know nothing about SEO apart from some YouTube clips that pointed me in the right direction. I run a maintenance business in Aberdeen, Scotland.
I Joined a company called Yola for a free website, purchased domain name added pics and text, added backlinks and outgoing links, registered with Google/yahoo/bing maps around 2011, all this took about 2 months, full on...
After a few days my website was coming up in Google search on the first and second result page, when typing relevant keywords. I have been clearing my history as Ive been going along. I have been getting work from it as well. The search results comes up with the relevant pages but, my home page often appears on page 4-5-6.
How to improve my home page and also what else can I do get my search results to the top?
p.s I have had SEO Company's calling me telling how well I have done with little knowledge and then offering there services. Do I need them?

Well! I hope this makes some sense to you all and I hope to hear from you soon. Gary
