Create 300 (PR 0) Properties linking to my site

How powerful do you think it would be to create 300 properties on different blogs and web 2.0 platforms, and posting different spun articles, that link back to my site?

These will all be PR 0, but they will all be relevant, as they are talking about the same topic as my site.

Based on the email response I got from a reputable SEO company, this is what they were going to do to guarantee me first page rankings for my keyword. I just want to copy their idea.

Well links from articles in relevant content is always good. It does depend on the site you are using though. Adding your links to site with a lot of spam or pharma links is not really going to do you any good. Make sure that the neighborhood is good.

Finding sites with higher PR is better lower will help as well especially for low competition niches.

If you site is not very old I would not do them all at once. Add a few a day for the first week and then gradually ramp up a bit.

I heard that Google values relevant blogs and web2.0 more than article directories. So creating lots of these sites and posting the article there instead seems like a good idea.

(Just to play Devil's Advocate) Think about the different categories of an article directory.

True, the entire site might not be about a specific topic, but a category can be very specific and there for very relevant.

The important thing is the page that your link is on not the site. Is there related content around your link? What content is found on other pages does not really matter (as long as we stay in the good neighborhoods).

I would imagine it would work fine, but it's hard to know if it's "enough" or not. No idea how competitive your keyword is, etc. I prefer to use a network (BMR) in my case, because I don't want to mess with building 1,000 blogs. But lots of ways to skin a cat.

You lost me at "spun articles". Sorry - but G can detect them and they don't like them at all.
