I Need Traffic Help

I'm new to this whole game, and I'm intrigued. The first thing that I want to try to do is boost this website for this guy I'm interning with. The main focus of his website is reviewing 'pro' level music instruments. The website is
Code:
musicplayersDOTcom
(can't post links yet) - and he claims at one point it had 100k+ visitors a month, but now it only seems to get about 1,000 views a month if that. Anyway, how can I get a steady flow of traffic back to the site? Willing to do whatever it takes, because he said if this internship is a success it might lead to a job, and to a broke college student that sounds pretty good! :p Thanks to anyone that helps!

P.S - also, he has a forum on the site with little to no activity as well (I'm talking ~50 total posts over a year or two, and half or more are from him).

ALSO - my friends have a band that I want to catch on, how would I get their YouTube videos that I took more traffic?

Thanks!

    • My boss is always complaining that it doesn't get traffic like it used to, so to him I guess 1,000 is nothing if he had 100,000 a month at one point. :p

    • I totally agree, but first you create your Facebook business page.
  • Social media has a lot of followers and a very large audience.
  • facebook, twitter (social networking), forum posting, linking, SEO of site, PURCHASE Traffic many options choose as per your needs & your efforts
  • Make something really cool. Then share to Stumbleupon or Reddit. It will work.
  • Here are just a few ways to get more traffic:
Create a FB fanpage, do some SEO work on his site - onpage & offpage, create youtube videos about his site & submit them to Tubemogul, Create a twitter account, get lots of targeted followers, and tweet about the site, create an article, spin it, and submit it to different article directories on the internet, Google Adwords, Press Releases, etc...

You can get more views to Youtube videos by adding them to a site like Twiends or Addsocials. Hope that helps.
