My website is now PR3

Hi,

I wanted to ask a question.

My website which is in a travel niche is 6mnths old. I have been build links steadily (not too much).

Market samurai show i have 56 back links (mostly page rank 0, a few 2-3 and 1 page rank 4).

I look today and my front page has page rank 3. Has a google engineer looked at my site and decided he liked and awarded me page rank three.

I have many other sites with many more back links that are still PR 0.

Does anyone else think this is weird?

Cheers,

James

There was a page rank update last night for all sites.. so you benefitted from that. Congrats. There's a few other threads on this today as well.

I just checked, and there was indeed a rerank last night. My homepage on my money site went from PR2 to PR4, and all of my older inner pages went from PR0 to PR2, so I am happy right now. I just hope this helps me in the SERPs. My traffic has fallen off by about 20% probably due to seasonal fluctuations, and I'd like some of it back.

Congratulations on the PR update. I was exited to find, this morning, my site's home page is now a PR5 and that's after 2 months. Not sure if it's got something to do with it being a Drupal site or whether it's back links. It only has around 50 back links and only a couple have any PR

No, its not wierd, backlinks isnt the only factor that determines your pagerank. Things like the quality of your posts also determines your page rank so the reason that you have a PR3 now may be that you have quality SEO friendly posts.

Yeah, it's not weird at all. Congrats! Looks like your work has paid off. (At least, in terms of your Pagerank.)

Looks like a lot of people benefitted from this update. I thought the whole point about page rank was the it was a mark of importance. What is annoying and what was weird is that even though my 10 or so pages of content which I have on the site is seo optimised I don't even rank close for my search terms.

I guess I just have to keep building links and see where that gets me.

      Cheers,

      J

    Congo to all

When I saw it last night I thought it's error in my SEO toolbar

A site I started in end of April went from PR0 to PR4. I build some quality links on it. I don't even builds links regularly. There was a time when I didn't build a link for week or two. Also the on-page SEO and the content of this site is very strong. And most of the inner pages got some Big G's love too.

My other site went from PR0 to PR3. I started this site in January. Most of the links I build on it were Profiles, High PR blogs, Web 2.0

I know PR doesn't affect the SERPs but I am still loving it...

I am currently working on 3 sites. For two sites it is same PR4 and PR 0 but one site improved PR3 from PR 0.

But i have seen a lot of SBM sites lost their ranks. PR1,2,3 sites now got PR0.
