I made a nice review website for a product, but when I tried to promote it using adwords my campaign keeps getting disapproved because of "site policy"? I am not direct linking so im not sure what I am doing wrong.

I regularly run AdWords campaigns for Amazon product review sites.

It's all about quality and user experience. Most affiliate sites suck. Google dislikes sucky sites. If you can build a quality affiliate site, you are golden.

Without knowing the site and looking at it, we can only guess.

My own guess? You a promoting the product saying how great it is and you have links to the Amazon page for that product which is also trying to sell the product. That is a bridge page. You can't go from a sales page to another sales page, bad user experience. It needs to be the order page. I'm sure Wolf is doing that and that is what Google calls a quality site.

Yes I am going from a adwords campaign that goes to the review page, with links to the product on that review page. So your saying I need to go strait to the order page? I thought amazon wont allow ppc traffic in this way?

No, you do not need to go directly to the order page. However, you need to structure your site as an ecommerce site. Amazon Web Services provides "Add to Cart" buttons that allow visitors to add products to their carts directly from your site. In addition, interactivity always helps as does permitting visitors feedback/reviews/etc.

Can you show me an example of a website like this so I can try to structure my website the same way?

Ive found that if you have over 100 key words in your adwords account you will be banned......or lets say it raises a red flag anyway.

Also adwords has very strict landing page guidlines.....

If you play your cards right you can get away with shallow landing pages.....
flying under the radar so to speak. ((I think there are many that get away with alot, and those are older established accounts. ))

    1. keep your key words for each campaign under 100 words.

    2. Best to have good content on your landing pages.....no affiliate bridges to other sites/ products.

Read up on googles landing page policies.

Ive been reading up on it since my adwords account got banned today!!

I guess its not to much trouble to get your account reinstated, just the hassle of it.
((You have to make it clear that you understand what you did wrong and so on....))

Did you have over 100 key words on your one campaign?

The time to read the policies are when you start a campaign, not after you've been suspended or worse, banned.

The number of keywords have nothing to do with it. You are assuming something based on not understanding the rules. You also said 100 keywords per account, maybe you meant group. I can assure you that you can have more than 100 keywords in an account or even a campaign or a group.

If you do have that many keywords in a group, likely you can do better by theming into smaller groups.

This will be misunderstood by most so let me clarify.

As mentioned previously, you cannot have links to affiliates going to their sales page. It's like listening to a sales clerk and tell him you'll buy the product and he insists on you listening to another sales clerk with a similar pitch instead of taking you to the checkout. Wolf is right, structure your site as an ecommerce site, as if you're the one selling those products.

If you do things by the book, you should never have problems with Adwords policies. Best to start off right instead of the hassle of making changes later.

Umm, correlation does not imply causation...

One of my clients had thousands of keywords in their account. Hundreds of campaigns. 28 EMEA markets. Most campaigns had well over 100 kws. No bans.

If you have more than 100 keywords in a campaign, you are probably doing it wrong. I've always preferred fewer, more targeted keywords. This typically results in a higher QS and better conversions.

You do not have any "buy" buttons. You simply have "buy" images which link to the product pages.

    See Add-to-Cart

Also, simply adding Add-to-Cart buttons won't necessarily be enough to get approved.

Wonderd, you obviously have not understood what we've been trying to say. You did as Wolf said and made it an ecommerce site as if you're the one selling the product, and that's good. I think you could have more features and benefits to sell the product but there is not the problem. When I clicked the "buy from Amazon" button, I expected to be taken to an order page. Instead, I'm shown Amazon's own page for the same product, look for their buy button before I can purchase it. That's a bridge page as I explained previously. I just told you I'm ready to buy so take me to the checkout and let me buy the thing.
