Domains for adsense

Say we find a keyword we like and we cant have a EMD would it be ok to make a slight adjustment to the domain and still rank as normal for the keyword? Maybe just add a X or S at the end? Or wont we rank like we would like?

Also is the .info domain poor? Think this is hard to rank for with a EMD?

  • It will be slightly harder to rank than an EMD ... but you can still do it with the right SEO ...
  • If its only slightly harder then i'm pleased!

  • These questions are for a micro niche site by the way.

    • In my experience, adding a letter (s) or even a word (site, online, reviews, etc.) wasn't a problem when it came after the keyword (browncarsreviews.com - where "brown cars" is the keyword.).

I've ranked many sites with these kinds of domain names.

Also, I prefer .com, .net and .org.
.info sounds scammy to me. (maybe it's just me)

      Good Luck
  • We found .info's harder to rank in our test. (Keep in mind it was a small test...probably not even statistically significant...and there are MANY other factors at play there, anyway) Our experience is that there's enough com/net/org's available to not have to worry about it too much. To be fair, there are plenty of experienced people here that vehemently disagree with us on this. What they DO agree with us on is the fact that .info's have a lower reputation and, because of that, tend to sell for less on the secondary market, even if they have similar rankings, stats, etc.
