Recently on my SEO service website I updated a method that has worked the best for me after trial and error for ultimately SEO optimizing a website..

I would've copy and pasted this but i didn't want to ruin my SERPs..

Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions by responding here...

For the best ways to automate my method refer to my thread on my list of the ..

  • Good stuff thanks for sharing, but i'd change it a bit and add the keyword/keyphrase in the first and last SENTENCE, not just the first and last 50-100 words (they're often the same, but not always). :-)

I've found that keyword density between 2-5% is ok, I usually stick between 3-4% (in the middle) for the best rankings personally.

Also, regarding the image, make sure the image is not just alt-tagged, but also named according to your keyword: ie: keyword.jpg, or this-is-my-keyword.jpg

I hope you don't mind my feedback, this is very good stuff and something people NEED to engrave into their minds when SEO'ing a website.

  • Thanks! thumps up!
  • Great stuff of onpage optimization. These are the main point to get up ranking of a site in major search engine.
  • This is interesting. Strange that underlining and emboldening keywords can help with rank.... I wonder if this is just a myth or if it really helps. Has anyone done some sort of A/B testing on this?
  • Great info. I have implemented this to my website!
  • amazing list...will be very useful.
    thanks
  • Thanks for sharing.
  • For a while I thought that all this was just over-optimising your page and that Google wasn't that dumb to fall for all that on-page stuff, and that decent backlinks were what counted, so I didn't bother too much with it. But lately I have realised Google IS quite dumb and you DO need to do all the optimisations, even if they seem blatantly obvious - for some sites of mine it has meant the difference between being on page two and being on page one, so I guess I will keep doing the dumb thing for now!
  • Nice tips. H tags are really powerful in onpage optimization, actually after using WP I rarely pay attention to H tags due to WP's structure, until another day I added two <h2> tags to a page, guess what? That page boosted to the first page on SERP the day after. So amazing! Now I'm adding H tags to other sites, hope they will work, too. Thanks for sharing.
  • H tags and the keywords meta tag are nowhere near as important as they used to be. In fact, Google and Bing ignore the keywords meta tag.

You need to optimize your pages so that Google knows where to rank your site. Once you get passed a certain point you won't see any better results.

For example, if you add <h2>, <h3> headings rich with keywords this doesn't tell the google bots any more than they already knew before you added this 'extra seo'.

  • I don't understand why the absolute basics get shared here over and over again and heralded as "amazing" or "great". How about BASIC?

    Content has 4.0-5.5% keyword density.

Really? So way too dense to be anywhere besides your own website and it will read like SEOPressed content...

KD is a useless onpage metric. Why would your page be more relevant because you use your keyword more than everyone else?

  • Good information. Thanks for sharing it.Meta tags optimization is also mentioned there. Here i want to say that keyword meta tag is irrelevant now a days. Many search engines including Google doesn't support meta keyword tag anymore.
  • optimizing h1 tag, meta tag, and content is basic in on-page what else can we do in it.
  • That is very basic stuff. I'm not even sure how important are those old preaches anymore (meta keywords?!).

Does anyone have any post-panda onsite advices?

    • Title: It is the most important factor of onpage optimization
