Quite new to SEO here, theres so much information to read, but is the above equation true? or atleast relatively true?

    .edu and .gov links should help. However, make sure the links are legitimate and relevant.

    Backlinks are backlinks. Take your link and put it where people will see it.

    Quality Back Links from Other Sources too will help you to Rank Top in SERP. Edu and Gov Back Links marked as Quality Ones, but with this you have to follow other Ranking Facts as well.

    True, but like others said it's only part of it.


    High quality backlinks in general will help.

    In my opinion the BEST backlinks are well done and professionally distributed press releases.

    They're expensive for a reason!

    Man...wish it was that simple. Like a few others said, that is just part of the puzzle. I would recommend creating an extensive social media portfolio as well. Google seems to be eating that up right now...

    One change in above equation on page SEO + High PR Relevant Backlinks/gov+edu backlinks = high ranking?
    I think backlinks are important but their authority increases if they are from high PR relevant website pages.
