    I know, I know!

I just lost a PR point on one website and I do not know why. It must be the 10 pages of new content that I added over last weekend.

I am still not sure that page rank affects my business in any way at all. I'm fine making money here. Google thinks itself important so I suppose I should pay attention but I have other things to do.

It lends credibility for advertisers... it's like your Alexa ranking in that sense. It's a measure you can show to potential advertisers to charge a higher rate. If you're not selling ads or your ads are all CPC / traffic based, then I can see why it would not matter for you.

Can you please tell me the significance of the PR ranking?

I don't have amazing traffic, yet I'm a PR 3, where as I know some members get more traffic then me and have lower PR's

    Just curious.

It could be a matter of timing.. for a few years already people have been thinking that the PR that shows in the toolbar, is actually the PR of the site 2-3 months ago.. so if you've been building backlinks in the last two or three months, it wouldn't be showing yet.. very roughly, I think it takes about a year, maybe less, to build up PR and have it show in the toolbar. So if you want 50 PR5 sites and start on it now, you might expect to have them by 2010.
