i dont think it is fully clear yet on how much the google+ is going to have an effect on rankings. In my personal opinion, if the +1 votes do end up effecting SEO rankings we are going to see a lot of spamming going on to boost rankings. I put money on the fact that +1 votes will end up having no effect because its just too easy to game

I could think of a number of algorithmic choices that would make the +1 harder to game and I am sure the G engineers are much more capable than I.

But if the +1s are compared with other activity and the other +1s that someone has done I think they could fairly easily weight +1s in a way that makes it harder to game. For example someone who is highly socially active on G+ and does a normal amount of +1ing rate would have their +1s counted but spammy +1s would simply be thrown out.

Google+ hasn't been around long enough and anything you hear at this point is going to be speculation and guesswork.

It'll be a couple more months before those who are testing have any real data. Probably take a couple more months before any of that data leaks down to the masses.

Yeah, you'll have plenty of GURU's claiming X, Y and Z between now and then but I wouldn't put much faith in anything they have to say.

So, start testing now and working on that Google+ Annihilation WSO.
