  • As far as I know, it's against the TOS to put Adsense code on any 404 page or error page.

    • People should actually give some reasons than just
toss out a cargo answer that makes no sense by itself.
      You need context.

If you have a custom 404 page, and content on it, there should be no
problem. Google has changed on the 404 thing, I believe. But I don't
      work for google.

If there is not enough content on it, then no ads will be displayed.

You can most certainly add a custom search box.

At first glance, adsense on a 404 page might seem like it is forwarding
people to an unwanted page. Which would be against TOS. But, not
in the true sense of the word. When a users types in a non existent page,
it loads whatever page your browser thinks it should go to. A 404
      page is a real webpage.

Think about it. If you could not forward people to an "unwanted" page
with adsense, then that means all 301 forwarders would be against TOS
as well. If you forward olddomain.com to newdomain.com with adsense,
and someone types in olddomain.com, the are zapped to a page they did
not actually want, complete with adsense.

I think(?) google will allow adsense on a 404 page, if it is content rich
      enough for adsense.

But in all these things, google tells you to use your discretion.

  • Sorry , its against adsense TOS. Do not do it or your adsense account will get banned

    I don't use 404s, I always redirect with a 301.

If I was going to use a 404, & I really needed Adsense on the page, I would include about 3 related (to the search keyword) page snippets on the 404, for content. Then add the Adsense Ads.

Not much G can say as long as you follow the basic TOS (content), just don't make the 404 page spammy looking.
  • Not 100% sure but I think you can use AdSense for parked domains code (Ads for sites/pages with no content). I know that you cannot use regular AdSense code on a 404 page unless you had content on it. Make a custom 404 page and use that code on it. Read more about AdSense for Domains first though as like I said I'm not 100% sure.

That will get your Adsense account banned, If you put regular Adsense Ads on a parked domain/page.

  • How about Adsense on 404 but my 404 have some Random Post links before the Adsense?

It's like telling them "we cannot find the page you are looking for but still, you can check out some of our related / recent post"
    (5 post links here)
    (adsense code here)

    Is this against the TOS?
